Preferably in the original Japanese. English subtitles optional.
I'd have to disagree with you there. I'm all for seeing the original blood and gore, but I like the episodes in English. Even though the translated/censored overdubs do subtract from the overall Anime experience, I often find that the original Japanese voices are ridiculous.
Have you ever watched an episode of DBZ on the International Channel? Vegeta sounds like a whiny little girl. I don't care how many one-fingered pushups he can do in 400G's; when he's promising to someday defeat Kakarot, he might as well be singing the Itsy-Bitsy-Spider. Completely un-intimidating. The same goes for a lot of other characters as well. Granted, Frieza sounds like a chick in the English dubs, but at least he's the only one.
Admittedly, I can't understand a word of Japanese, and the effect might be slightly different if I could actually understand the text.
