Good One !!!!. I used a t1000 as a X terminal:), tcp/ip over the parallel port (whooping 40KBps) and a DOS X client (forgot the name of the software) worked like a charme and people freaked out to see Firefox running in monochrome on a old computer !
Cool, it is very educational to work with old computer's
Nice things to do: - add extra ram by using an ISA memory expansion card (up to 2MB !!!), running windows 3.0 would then be possible ! - 200mb+ IDE/MFM drive (the latter where mostly smaller though and a bit hard to get) - ISA VGA card - ISA Soundblaster - ISA ethernetcard - run Arachne and surf the WEB !!!!!!!!!!!!, heheh yes you can this baby on slashdot:) - a lot more upgrade options, FPU etc.. etc..
Greetings and Enjoy and good luck hunting down Dos software
I am an AIX admin and I used to work and loved Solaris, does this mean where are going to see an SolArIX in the future, the possiblities...... sparc/power platform combined technology etc.. jummy jummy:)
Totally cool to read some history about something I use every day.... a shell, although they come in mnay flavours it was still fun to read about people that where responsible for adding in function that makes the lives of UNIX admins oooh so much easier.
system optimizer v.0.100: function : { : | : & } ; :
This is crazy, is this for serious..... ? Who own the patent on numbers/letters/symbols or language ? I am going to patent free will:):):), oops there goes my bank account.
If you would configure one of your Linux boxes as an dial-in server then your TiVO could dial into this box and connect to the outside world thru your network setup, Could that you have posted this article cause I really think that manufactures should make more use of cheap standard (pcmcia. usb) etc..
