I think Mozilla's biggest problem is their marketing strategy, or lack thereof. Of course us geeks know what it is but we only make up what, about that 6% of the market share they have? Talk to anyone outside the nerd world and they will likely stare blankley at you when you mention FireFox or Mozilla. Marketing and consumer awareness should be their next step.
the floppy is invaluable for anyone in college, especially in dorms. when you write a paper on word, for example, you need to (typically) either go to another room, or the library to edit and or print. it's impractical to burn it to a cd and have to reburn all following saves or what have you. emailing is always an option, but it has its flaws. if zip disks weren't the laserdisc of the late 90's, they could be an option too. the floppy is for sure necessary to these people, at the very least, and at my last count there were a lot of computer sales to college students.
i find it interesting that the creator of netscape thinks he has any say in modern biology. he created NETSCAPE. maybe i missed the genome mapping area of netscape, but i think he's a little out of place.
the fact is that most people are looking for the lower temperatures and longer battery life as a trade off for better performance. i'd be willing for even worse benchmarks for the extra day of battery life i'll be getting with my crusoe..
