Doesn't the New York Times copyright their online articles? Can I not view them any more for fear of violating Excite's policies?
Oh please... That statement is just dumb. Of course on-line periodicals don't fall under that
because the copyright holder allows you to download it. They are simply scanning for Warez, Movies and Mp3s (which I don't agree with but for you to compare those to the New York Times is just ignorant)
Every now and then would be fine... However, Mr. Katz only does editorials/reviews and most of them have nothing to do with technology or anything else slashdot related. Besides, It was written the way a 15 year old would write a report for his tech ed. class. If it was just the fact that I didn't like it, I wouldn't have responded to it. I just feel that it's offtopic enough not to be included in slashdot.
Or does this article read like a report written by a seventh grader? And also, How does this actually qualify as "news for nerds" and/or "stuff that matters"? Again, Perhaps it would have been better if Mr. Katz had looked at what his fellow posters have been writing and maybe do something a little more relevent for slashdot.
CSI is one of the worst shows that has come out this season. When it first came out, I watched the season premier with 2 of my friends that are state troopers... Each one pointed out about 100 different things that they were doing wrong, or doing that made no sense at all. How is that a geek show of any type? Jesus... Next thing you know we'll all be praising the movie "The Net" and talking about how realistic THAT was.
How did they get a warrant anyway? When did posting a shitlist become against the law and deserve a warrant? Jeez... Next thing you know they'll come after IRC channel operators for ban/kicking someone because it's a "crime of discrimination"
Great.... I live in maine... go ahead and link your ring to mine without ethernet... oh yeah. YOU CAN'T
Great, Next time you write some free software, send me the link to the source so I can incorporate it in one of my projects and claim that it's mine.
Actually, I believe it would be Joe Hacker who breaks in to the backdoor, then writes an easy exploit for it which is utilized by Bob Script Kiddie.
... are slow/old/out of date technology
Just build one you LAZY FUCK!

I vote for laserjet to take over Katzs spot on slashdot!
