  2. Re:Haven't you ever seen a painting? on Color Photography with B&W Film · · Score: 1

A Painting cannot be compared to a photograph in this standpoint. A painting is how the artist interperated the scene. A Photo is how it actually is. A Window into the past to see exactly how it looked to everyone in that period. No interpertation (basically, I know these pictures were touched up slightly). It's amazing and profound in it's own right.

I can't imagine a group of people comming together that large, but, is it worthwhile? As a group of teenagers, we routinly get together and pull an all nighter playing any game we can get our hands on. Playing a maxed out game with all your friends has to be better than playing against complete strangers, whats the real difference between that and the internet? Sure you get to see the people, but you never really know them. It's much more satisfying doing pelvic thrusts when you got the last capture knowing you smacked down your closest friends than a group over the internet.

    Just my 2 cents.

I am on team 365 as well, and I would like to express my sincere disapointment at this last post. If it originates truly from our alliance, it would seem that they have had their head in the samd for the last 4 months. FIRST has the ideal of "Gracious Professionalism" basically meaning that everyone has put the same ammount of blood sweat and tears into their robot and deserves our respect. This is in severe disregard to this ideal, and is one of the major differences between our competiton and any other robot competition. Although it does feel good to win, it does not mean we should worry about our heads exploding.

  9. Integrated/Laptop support on Tile Based Rendering and Accelerated 3D · · Score: 1

This is an impressive card, no matter how you look at it. It makes me wonder, what would occur if this came into play in the laptop/integrated market. The card is obviously cheap, when you look at the Geforce2go which is basically a Geforce 2MX with a lower power consumption, it is in the same price bracket. It also only dissipates 4 watts. For a card this powerful, cheap and cool, why isn't anyone thinking of these markets to push the chip?

  10. Re:BeOS? on Darwin Booting On x86 · · Score: 1

Wow, who would have thought? Beta software has bugs? Who knew? OS X is far from being ready as production software, most people estimate it'll take over apple's estimated march release date. Don't ever mistake beta software as being ready to be shipped to the public. Yes it is a public beta, but as you can see from the pricetag on it, apple doesn't want everybody to be using the OS. Only the people who are serious about beta testing the system for them. Don't start comparing performance till it is released as a final product. Who is out there benchmarking wistler against everything else? nobody. OS X has barely been optimized for the public beta, just the debugging code has been removed. Don't forget, Apple has totally redesigned their operating system. Also, BeOS is not a mainstream OS, it is made to do one thing well, and it does it well. If only it would run on over half the systems out there, it would be a differen't story.
