Yes where in the FARK did you come from. Corporate prisons are not unionized, that would make it too expensive and would hurt their bottom line. Example of TeaBagger benefitting from corporate prisons: Russell Pearce and Jan Brewer of Arizona. Arizona SB1070 was written by Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) and American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), both of whom gave very large donations to both Pearce and Brewer. (http://blog.lawinfo.com/2010/10/29/private-prisons-helped-draft-arizonas-sb-1070/) Please provide even the most minimal documentation to show where an organized group of liberals spit on republican senators/representatives as they walked to their offices. Please provide even minimal documentation to show where an organized group of liberals said in a stump speech that a republican senator should be hung (Republican/TeaParty member Dino Rossi). Please provide even minimal documentation to show where a group of liberals jumped up a cheered when a candidate said " “America’s greatest threat is Marxism and International Jewry/Zionism! We will never regain our Liberty and Freedom until we expel every Jew from America!” This was a statement on Sarah Palin’s web page by a Tea Party member and Sarah Palin supporter. Please show a case where a liberal carried a sign outside the Republican White House that said "The American Tax Payer are the Jews of Obama's ovens". If you were soooo woorriieedd about Washington spending our children's inheritance where in the h*ll were you when the Bush tax cuts tripled the US deficit by cutting taxes for the very rich. Where were you when Bush gave the top fifth of income earners 65% of the tax cut and 33% of tax cuts to those in the top 1% resulting in an increase 3.9 trillion dollars in deficit from 2001 to 2008. Where were you and your teabagger friends then? Where were you and your teabagger friends when Bush shredded our constitutional rights? You signature indicates your lack of intelligence. I rarely see a winner, particularly a neocon, indicating that they worked hard to meet a goal, they just run around chanting how they are "the champions of the world" I see the losers congratulating their opponent for a hard won victory. The only people being led around like cows in a field are the teabaggers who are bought and paid for by FreedomWorks (Dick Armey) and Americans for Prosperity which are wholly owned subsidiaries of the Koch Bros.

I'd say you provide a perfect example of why an MBA is bad. You obviously didn't read the ENTIRE post and drew conclusions from only your own biases. If anything I'd suggestion that you are bitter that you wasted your money on getting an MBA hoping that you would get paid more. Let's try this in simple terms I own a company that hires people. I used to hire MBA's but the MBA's (a Wharton grad on one case) sole focus was to increase this quarters profits at the expense of longer term company health. Let me give you a second example: My company works with a local university with internationally ranked science and engineering colleges as well as a Business school. I typically have 3 or 4 science/engineering interns/coops working with the company and interns from the MBA program. The science/engineering interns/coops ALWAYS are interested in how what we currently have can be expanded or improved. Not a single proposal from these interns/coops looks at time lines less than five years. They clearly state that development phase is expensive, but they balance cost and opportunity. Unfortunately the business plans put forth by the MBA's for these proposals scoff at the development phase and only concentrate on how quickly the product can be made profitable and then sold off. I've owned this company for over 25 years, have 20 employees and have 4 patents. Your own examples provide further documentation. Google and Apple are companies driven by scientists/engineers. While Apple was under the control of scientists/engineers it did very well. Then they brought in an MBA (John Scully) and the company nearly tanked. EA is/was managed by another MBA and is struggling. Don't be so bitter maybe you can get a real degree and get a job.

Although iPads aren't quite proper terminals either.

Since when does a Sun workstation need to connect to some other much bigger centralized machine? Oooh Now I get it you never used a workstation before just another dumb windows box

Indeed you need many different kinds of people to manage/run any organization. In any well run organization, every one understands they have a role to play in keeping the organization working AND that they responsibility is shared. In a well run organization an engineer/programmer/scientist is not sneered at and verbally abused, nor are the sales/accounting/IT people. The problem that has occurred as Lutz keeps repeating is that because of B-schools MBA's specifically and B-school graduates in general have been told/taught that ONLY a B-school graduate knows anything about how to manage a company. They are TAUGHT that only this quarters results are important, that research and IT support is a waste of money and if you don't have an MBA you are a waste of company resources. A long time ago people started at a low level in a company and worked their way through the company learning along the way what works and what doesn't in that company Now B-school graduates learn real garbage, move into middle management and drag a company down. From my own experience as a scientist managing a successful company, I no longer hire B-school graduates. The last one I hired told me I don't know how to run my own company and that they could increase my profits several hundred fold if I would just stop wasting resources on taking care of the staff and coddling the other scientists. When he came into my lab I laughed at him and then showed him the door

Itanium? Itanium? You are kidding me right? Don't read /. often do you. It seems that HP is pissed at Oracle because Oracle is dropping Itanium support and Intel is dropping Itanium as well. PPC? IBM is the only current vendor of PPC servers and they aren't cheap. Since the Ultrasparc IV is now past the 7 year mark and the Ultrasparc III+ is closing in on the 10 year mark seems you got your longer support life

Yes Conservative hate science. There is no fudging of numbers. The fudging of number, data is not available, model source isn't avail is simply a LIE constantly repeated by conservative in hopes that repeating the lie often enough will make people think it is true. The data, the source code for the analysis tools and the source for the models are all freely available for download both in raw and processed form. See www.ncdc.noaa.gov for the both the raw and processed data and http://www-pcmdi.llnl.gov/ for the both initialization data, model output and model source code. The data and software have been freely available for over 20 years. Next lie that documents that Conservatives hate science : Steve McIntyre requested that his followers purposely, with malice of forethought send 10's of thousands of FOIA requests with the expressed purpose of preventing climate scientists, the victims, from doing their work. Steve McIntyre LIED both in his multiple FOIA requests and on his webpage, claiming he needed the YAMAL tree data from Briffa, when in point of fact McIntyre had had the data for over five years before he started on the campaign to flood scientist with FOIA. Then there is Singer and Christy who continue to publish good science documenting that global warming is occurring and that their data proves it. Christy has testified under oath in court that Hansen is correct about the hockey stick temperature curves. On the other hand these "conservative" scientists discard any sense of reality when they talk to "conservatives' and use their error filled results, that they admit to the scientific community is wrong, to "prove" global warming doesn't exist. Maybe you don't understand when McIntyre says on his webpage on June 14 2011 that IPPC scientists should be killed that McIntyre as a conservative is making death threats. Please point to a climate science web site that makes the same death threats. Don't bother there aren't any Please go learn the documented facts before repeating the lies of those who profit from your lack of knowledge and understanding Please poin

As a ham I and a meteorologist. MacTO and DarthBart have absolutely no clue what they are talking about. DarthBart is able to use $200 worth of equipment because NOAA/NASA spent a few million dollars extra in terms of on-board equipment and satellite weight to maintain a signal they should dropped in 1975. No it isn't as easy as buying a cheap receiver and loading some software. The reason his images are poor is because it takes a lot of tuning and just the right timing to get a decent image. Having used APT imagery in the south Atlantic and in the North Pacific on field campaigns it takes a lot of effort and expensive hardware to get a clean image. An APT image once an hour is of little use when you are trying to tell which storm is moving where to give people more than a 30 second warning. MacTO: So I guess one of the AMSAT's has both 1km visible and 4km IR imagers? I guess one of the AMSAT's is in a Geostationary orbit so I can get imagery every 3 minutes? I guess one of the AMSET's has a profiler so I can receive vertical temperature, humidity and wind profiles every 30km every 3 minutes. Guess what AMSAT's are little more than a glorified repeater Since my students have built a cube sat I know that the bulk of the work has been done by NASA not hams. Hams serve an important role in society, to open them up to ridicule with foolish garbage does more harm than good
