SCO knows this, that's why they keep screwing around just to keep the courts tied up for as long as
possible.
In this case, the real question is 'Why?'.
Why did the judge delay? Was the judge overwhelmed
with BS and confused as result?
And can Redhat appeal the judges ruling to delay?
The Most Important Pie (MIP), is actually
non-monetary, and always changing, so that
a proven monopolist cannot control the MIP
because they cannot catch up.
Actually, I must say that the way the Slashdot editors manage the content is a fortunate thing
in this case. Good broad-based feedback has something to be said for it.
Well, they (MS) really have no choice but to
continue the FUD. The real problem however,
is that the non-techies are being setup to
accept whatever is thrown at them, and in this
case, that is control over their 'perceived' Internet.
I can state with certainty that the non-techies
are having more problems lately with their machines.
So, if MS can come to the rescue and provide the
magical elixir to cure their woes, well, that's
marketing for you.
Providing more money for government via increased taxes does not
necessarily mean you can have more secure systems.
I'm not saying that it won't help, but I know of
a case where a government operation was caught
with missing licenses for Windows, and as part
of the settlement, they are now locked into Windows.
They are still trying to upgrade everyone to W2k.
So, just because they are upgrading does not mean
that they are more secure.
If you got to document, do it as you go. You'll never remember all of the critical details.
Well, helping others can be therapeutic,
it relieves stress from all of the SCO bashing.
Here's a link to Reflections on Trusting Trust.
Traffic monitoring/re-writing software is subject to bugs just like any other software.
Well, it's going to be more difficult with the slashcode obfuscation that was added.

Nothing to see here, move along.
The problem with seeking excessively applies to *any* computer with movable heads on the hard drives.

Really. Is the website running on the PDA?

And if such a clause specifying that Sun can pursue Linux+GNU is *NOT* in existence, then, the Sun has set, they will have gone over to the DarkSide.
Here's a worthy reference site
But, as McBride himself says: The truth will come out in the courtroom.
We can only hope.
I know a Best Buy that did that, but no longer. Seems the MS marketing money influenced them.
Correct. Pure MS BS. There are existing exploits in Windows that MS does *NOT* have a patch for. eEye will be telling you soon.
But, why bother?
No, this ploy is just part of the anti-Linux conspiracy, nothing more.
Why do you think MS has allowed all of the security holes for so long?
If you didn't see this coming, you weren't paying attention.
Yep. Running on NT is the giveaway. MS would not condone this unless it was on XP.
Send? I'd be more worried that this will *lead* to more spam.
No, you're not the only one. I'm pretty sure it's not 'borderline' any longer.

But, it's still *human* error that led to the problems, not the type of switch.
