Yeah I've been using the undocumented periods.for.spaces feature for two- or three- word searches for over eight years. I can't remember where I learned it though. It's interesting that it's still undocumented.
Did you know about asterisks? Try/all**are born**equal in**rights/. Each asterisk is a word wildcard.
The dumbest Google search feature is currency conversion. Try/100 USD in EUR/. The disclaimer even says the information Google gives you is worthless.

I cannot tell you how angry I was with them for not teaching me this until well after integral calculus.
Well, who do you blame if you didn't figure this thing out yourself?
e^(ix)=cos(x)+i*sin(x)
is found in the tear-sheets of all calculus books. You should be also able to notice this immediately when you see how similar the power series of cosine, sine and exp are...:
sin x = x - x^3/3! + x^5/5! - x^7/7! +...
cos x = 1 - x^2/2! + x^4/4! - x^6/6! +...
e^z = 1 + z/1! + z^2/2! + z^3/3! +...
The pleasant thing about math is that "cheats" are all around to discover and exploit.
It's old news. Philipp Lenssen had the same idea at FindForward. FindForward also lets users comment on sites and encloses the site's thumbnails (captured from Thumbshots).
...and consider it near the top of my list when choosing laptops, cellphones, radios and digital cameras. I can conveniently recharge Li-on anytime to any level, so it's worth the extra bucks.
Laptop batteries die in 1-3 years so laptop companies are assured of continuous $$$. (Maybe they design it to die as fast.) They also change battery designs often (why?!?) and phase out old battery designs without notice. That's why there's no sense buying refurbished laptops.
Will someone explain why 60 laptop manufacturers have 200+ kinds of batteries, all non-interchangeable??
IMHO, today's transformers suck. First, the transformations stink. Second, I thought the whole point of transforming is to disguise. Not to run all over as wild animals.
Back to the topic, CNN came out with a report last September on the pros and cons of alternative power sources.
