  1. twats on UK Outlines Plan For Internet Black Boxes · · Score: 1

Encrypt everything, move on, keep computers away from dullards in government, they do not and will never understand computers (its just a big phone witha typewriter isnt it??) - twats.

  2. No No No on Should IT Unionize? · · Score: 1

Unions do nothing but destroy. They are run by people who know nothing about businesses but insist on 'having a say'. Here in England, unions were responsible for destroying both the coal mining industry and the ship building industry (a lot of people will tell you it was the government but they lie; unions created rules wherein it was impossible for management to function then they blamed management when it all went tits up).

IT workers are, supposedly, more intelligent and do not need to be told what to think and how to vote.

    Stay away from unions.

  3. 20 Years on Disillusioned With IT? · · Score: 1

I have worked in the IT industry for 20 years (programmer and infrastructure architect) and I am sick to death of deploying desktop computers only to go back within 5 years to redeploy new ones ti run an 'upgraded' operating system - recently started a course in oceanology but being the age I am I doubt I will ever swap jobs now.

  4. Confused on Some Bands Still Refuse Music Downloads · · Score: 1

ok so if downloading a single track hurts the integrity of the album (by the way how can a fucking album have integrity), does this means that 'pay-for' singles hurt it to or are we really saying that it hurts the pocket?

  5. Sexist crap on GNOME Reaches Out to Women · · Score: 1

The majority of western countries have laws enshrining equality between the sexes, why do these dullards think that women have 'special needs' or is it that they dont understand the term 'equaility'. How about we have another group, we could have a 'reach-out' program for those people who cant code or even better for those people who cant be bothered. Equality means just that.

  6. Snobbish Arseholes on Is Visual Basic a Good Beginner's Language? · · Score: 1

Programming is a skill, a programming language is a tool. If your a programmer you can work with the tool that is appropriate for the job. There are no real 'bad' programming languages, there are only snobbish arseholes who think that because they can use a more complex language then they are somehow better than those that cant/dont.

    Grow up!

  7. RIAA on RIAA Sues Woman Who Has Never Used a Computer · · Score: 1

Pseudo code for dealing with the RIAA:

do while number of RIAA Lawyers > 0
            select RIAA Lawyer
execute RIAA Lawyer (no one will miss it)
    loop

  8. Sony become Script Kiddies on President of RIAA Says Sony-BMG Did Nothing Wrong · · Score: 2, Insightful

So as long as Sony apologised then everything is ok? So when we catch the next hacker that installs a rootkit, we can let them go secure in the knowledge that they have apologised!

  9. Possibly you misunderstand on IT Workers Worst Dressed Employees · · Score: 1

Heres the thing, if I go to work in a shirt and tie, I write programs, design solutions etc; if I go to work in a tshirt, I still write programs, design solutions etc. Its ME that does the work not the clothes!!!
The reason we are hearing about 'badly dressed IT people' is because the morons who write it have realised that IT workers tend be be a bit independant and dont appreciate being told what 'they should wear' and the attitude is one of 'I have to wear this so why shouldnt they'. I guess what it boils down to is that if you want to be a sheep and wear the same as everyone else, go stand in a fuckin field.
