Hackers hack for the sake of hacking. It's not the teevee shows, it's the target. Hughes presented a big target, and good win. Now, they have presented a whole Borg cube to fight and hopefully win against. The hackers don't give a flying fsck about the shows. Hughes didn't win. They just threw more gas on the fire. Wait.
The point is, all that money for high definition...what? All the pointless mediocre shit that gets shoveled over the airwaves? High definition crap is still crap so why bother?
We just track the little shit down to his home address (with a little friendly persuasion toward his isp), kick his door in a blow his fscking head off with a reliable Remington 780. Hey kid this is your brain. This is your brain on the wallpaper. Any questions?
After having read "There Will Come Soft Rains" in Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles so many years ago, I hesitate to appreciate a neural network running a household. The thought of it brings out the Luddite in me.
Feh. Same old same old. This planet's been doing this for a couple of billion orbits. The dinosaurs had 125,000,000 new years. The arthropods at least half a billion. We haven't even learned to rattle our cage, yet. I can wait.
IBM computers check the bios attempting to be loaded and refuse to load a bios for another model, and also warn if the loading bios is older or equal to the current bios. I don't think checking the bios should be the processor's responsibility. It should be the motherboard chipset's.
The bozos always think they can own everything forever. They don't even own themselves. It's so pathetic it's not worth further comment. Except, the price for being a quizzling certainly has gone up since the Revolution.
Shakespeare's character said, "First, we must kill the lawyers." No one listened four hundred years ago. Now we are damned. Of course, fighting back depends on whether you believe the real world is worth fighting for at all.

You're a lawyer?
Actually it can stand until too few people subscribe, then it gets shut down and we don't have to worry about it anymore.
