Flyneye,
I appreciate your scare tactics, but please note that (as I have said before) I have never done anything illegal with a child, and don't plan to. (I can't say I haven't done anything illegal at all, if you count pirating warez and mp3z and such, but otherwise...)
You post illustrates the exact idea that I am trying to get across: Most people have an irrational fear and hatred of pedophiles. And since you said you've had bad experiences with "pedophiles", I'd say that you don't have the required detachment and objectivity either.
I agree that my postings will have no effect on you, but there are many thousands of others who read/., and I may be able to sway at least a few people. And as I said, things are changing. Whether you want to believe it or not, through current research we are finding out that sex is not inherently harmful to children, only our culture's response to it (as you pointed out in your first "example" above). In fact, you demonstrated very nicely one of the better reasons for not hating pedophiles.
Thank you for your post.
All they would get from SlashDot is the IP address of a proxy (in another country), and an email address from a web-mail provider. If they go after the web-mail provider they'll just get the proxy again. You think I'm stupid or something?
Why is it that people assume that sex is inherently harmful? I agree that harm (such as STD's and unwanted pregnancy) can be a result of sex, but in that case wouldn't it be better if children gained experience in it with adults rather than learning by trial-and-error from eachother?
I would suspect you're thinking of someone who would abduct your children. That person is not a pedophile. I agree that bad things happen to children, and it's very sad, but you can't go blaming people who love children. It's like saying hackers break into bank computers and steal money.
I am not "dirty" and I'm not a "fag". I take showers, and I'm only interested in girls, thank you very much. And as for getting off slashdot, I have as much right to be here as you do. First Amendment and all.
And a hacker is someone who breaks into computer systems. As I said, the word has been manuplated by the media to mean something it's not. Pedophiles are not stupid, we understand that sex at too young an age can harm a child.
Parents aren't any better, I saw a father and a girl who looked about 4 in the store the other day, and he kept yelling at her to shut up.
Fiber is much harder to join than copper wire (needs special equipment, you can't just twist the end together like you do with a wire:) )... So this isn't as easy as it sounds.
What can be done about this? Maybe a trade embargo against countries where this happens?

Finally, someone who cares! Thanks for posting! :)

All they have to do is look at your gas meter...
In the current social climate, no. We realize what could happen if the relationship is found out about and a psychologist tries to "fix" the child.
No the American Psychological Association you dimwit.

Is it so hard for you to believe that pedophiles exist?
Thanks for your support. We need all the help we can get.
What's a flammer, is it like a hammer? When you're done denying your own repressed sexuality, come back and post something intelligent.
Thanks for your support, we need people to counter the FUD about us.
I ain't no stinkin' troll...
Maybe I should give the Jerry Springer show a call. Any other ideas for media outlets that support "contraversial" material?
I wonder if RealDoll will make me a 10-year-old girl?

See? My point exactly, asshole.
