I would figure that those people that disable went to the trouble of disabling JavaScript would probably be the same people that have disabled plug-ins and ActiveX controls. Just a thought.

"It's like Robin Hood," Niro said. "We take from the rich and give to the poor."

This guy is a lawyer working for TechSearch and is going after intel for $2 billion to $7 billion in damages. After reading the article it's disgusting how the people patent office can justify some of these patents. I never thought the day would come when I actually would pity Intel. Thanks to Niro, that day has come.

  4. Just Use AIM on SMS vs. E-mail? · · Score: 2

I also use nextel for my cell phone, and I find the quickest way to message people is Aol Instant Messenger. I have instructions at my site on setting up any wap phone to use AIM. Apparently, AOL doesn't want you to know how to do it, forcing you to use their partners cell phone service.

  7. Re:The OS in ROM on Other Uses For The Linux RAM Disk? · · Score: 1

Macintoshes don't have the huge rom they used to have. Newer macs load the rom from a file on the hard drive into ram on boot. Having a rom on macintoshes was useful when hard drive sizes were in the 20megs and your memory was 128k. These days the need for that speed is given up for the convenience of 60gig hard drives.

  8. The Dfference is... on Fred Moody Says Linux Worst Operating System Ever · · Score: 1

It's pretty much granted that any operating system that is used will have bugs. It's just one of those things that people deal with. How someone goes about dealing with those issues is where Linux and Windows differ. On the windows side, there is no way to fix these issues on your own except for waiting for Microsoft to post a service pack to fix all those badies that are messing with your computer. With Linux I have the option to go into the source fix them myself in the amount of time I am willing to invest in the matter. In the end I would much rather have an operating system where their might be more bugs but they are fixed in a shorter amount of time than one with a supposedly fewer bugs that are never fixed.

  9. Hand Writing? X Windows? gcc? on More on the Samsung Linux Handheld · · Score: 1

I was just trying to figure out does Hand Writing mean Handwriting like the Newton's or (Full Handwrinting Print, or Cursive) like the Palm's Graffiti. I am hoping that it is more like the newton. Also, does this thing use it's own display mechinism, or is it X? I would immagine it would just take up too much memory or the 32 megs to do it that way, or maybe framebuffers? One last thing, could I put standard linux stuff on it like gcc, it would be fun to be able to have a neat portable compiler like that, I only wonder how long it would take to compile the kernel on that thing?
