apples loud-mouth marketing is pathetic, 200 new features? yeah right...just like the "over 150 new features" in panther?, i could count to about 7 or 8, the only new feauters in tiger is spotlight, automator, core video and....well, thats about it.
they should give this one for free to all its customers that bought a previous version of mac os x.
Will Safari 2.0 that comes with Tiger finally have the nasty bug fixed that prevents it to authenticate to an IIS server and de facto make it a pos browser?
For creating another superB product, im sure this one will be just as stable and fuctional as the fantastic line of products such as Windows NT, 2000, 2003 and XP, not to mention historys most popular home entertainment systems, Windows 95, 98 and ME
Solaris 10 is a f*cking joke in every means possible and MacOS X? well if you want to waste your money on overpriced hardware from Apple only to join the cult of mac, please do so, but your computing experience will not elevate by doing so.
Contrary to popular mac-taliban opinion, MacOS X is not the holy graal of computing.
With Windows 2000, XP, 2003 and the coming Longhorn, Microsoft shows the way yet again for all others to follow.
Oh dear, the BSD-talibans is on the war path again, no thanks, anyone that tried BSD and Linux knows that the former has support for fewer hardware than Linux ->.
Linux is not UNIX;) besides that, *BSD's hardware support is terrible compared to Linux, thats makes it a no-go option if you want a fully functional desktop/workstation solution. (multi-media etc)
Altough your posting are a little on the top, i agree with you. But you have the same thing with MacOS X for example, but in the other way, anything that smells terminal or editing files there is geekish and are to be avoid like the plauge. Because they are creative artists, learning to actually use something? o noooo....
Hangover from the oversized pocket calculator era that was classic MacOS i guess.
thats a fact, proven not least by the drovs of companies that has replaced expensive UNIX iron with cheap Linux x86-based hardware servers and workstations.
Whats wrong with UNIX? its a dead horse that only some oldtimers continue to beat.
and maybe you mac-talibans should take your faces out of steve jobs ass before comment on anything that has to do with apple?

Are you stupid or what?
Windows has full SMB implementation, what the Samba project is trying to do basically is to play catch up for other plattforms
