Underwater or space is the most likely place for robotic snakes. I did enough work with them in grad school that I believe weight is going to be a big problem at least during my life time, and certainly during my grad life it was. Researchers very often have pie in the sky stories like this to tell, but I do not think them practical.
Because the people in training are realistically going to need these skills. The white suburban youths that play GTA will only sit around and talk smack.
I have taught classes to engineers, and their managers sometimes show up. I have seen managers try three times to click on the title bar of a window. Consistantly double clicking correctly is beyond some lusers. Notice this was tested against college students who have used their computers forever. By the time this technology is ready most of the computer illiterates should be dead.
I have no problem with socialism when it is by consent of all those in the socialist society. The most common example of this is the family unit. It is socialist, but by consent of all in the family.
When the government is socialist the individual has no escape from the structure. If he resists, he will be physically coerced, at gun point if need be, to remain in the system.
How can you in good concience mandate a system of physical coersion when you could easily implement a consentual form of socialism within the larger framework of a free society? (This does not imply that I believe America or anywhere else to currently be a free society). If socialism is a good idea, why is it necissary for the government to force people to be in it?
What we are dealing with is a new technology, it will have pros and cons over former technologies. The bamboo vs. paper conversion led to paper because the pros outweighed the cons.
The battle between soft and hard cover seems to have met a stalemate with neither being a complete victor, there is a balance in the pros and cons.
The battle of e-text vs. pulp will be decided in the near future. I suspect it will end in a similar stalemate with both existing since there are reasons that each is prefered by certain sizable market segments.

qwerty!
Player 3 always guesses.
50% of the time he is wrong.
The choices of the others only increase the probability that someone else will be wrong further decreasing the possibility that the team wins.
