I live in reality. And the reality is that the vast majority of torrents contain pirated files. Anyone looking for legal content will already be smart enough to find it via other methods.
You know it isn't often that I get to see a/. member with such a low UID act like a complete and total jack ass. Perhaps, in the future, you might want to try avoiding comments like "response to some retard's offhand comment on Slashdot"
It is obvious that you have never used the systems in question. If you actually had used them you would know that most everything you are saying is simply wrong.
And what is wrong with restricting who has access to medical data?
You have no idea what AD Rights management is for. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rights_Management_Services
It is about companies protected their trade secrets and confidential data. It isn't about stopping you from stealing something off of the piratebay.
What NAP really is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_Access_Protection
It is about ensuring that the client is configured correctly and secure before connecting to a corporate network. I fail to see why this is a bad thing.
And what is wrong with securing user data in a Medical Research Environment?
Then why isn't East Texas hit by rolling power outages and a lack of maintenance? AEP/Swepco does more tree trimming then most of the other utilities in the state and they are regulated and still manage to make a healthy profit.
How do you explain that?
East Texas is still regulated. We pay AEP/SWEPCO less then 10 cents per KW/h during the summer and less than 9 cents per KW/h during the winter. Tyler Texas has portions that are in the regulated area and portions that are in the unregulated area.
The regulated are has much more growth than the nonregulated area IIRC.

If you are looking for a Linux distro and have to use google instant search to find it perhaps, just perhaps, you aren't qualified to install it?
"Sometimes, there are no valid "other methods." Then you do without. You aren't entitled to have your ever last little whim satisfied.

Why not simply buy what you are downloading?
Some might say that downloading a torrent instead of buying the product in question is evil.

Thinks simply work better that way.
And why is the Unix core so much better than an NT core?
What patents does Mono violate that no other language violates?
What is so horrible about Microsoft?
Part of the operating system? How? It is a normal user mode program which can be easily replaced.
What do you mean by "an actual integrated command line"? I can't discuss this with you if I do not know what you mean.
Why don't you consider PowerShell to be a real command line?
It is obvious that you have never used the systems in question. If you actually had used them you would know that most everything you are saying is simply wrong. And what is wrong with restricting who has access to medical data?
Because it works.

No more than 5 to 10 million dollars.
How about if you don't want to use the "DRM" you simply don't use it? It being on the processor will not harm you.
Why not use Windows 7 and give them an account with limited rights. Rather hard to break it that way.
Amazon's MP3 store.
Nothing is 100% efficient.
You mean the same first one that was build with lots of government money, tax incentives and eminent domain land seizures?
How can you not know this? Are you arguing simply to argue?

You are going to have a heart attack when you google Lighs Out Management (LOM)
