I mean, honestly, where the hell are you going to find yourself with an internet hookup and a need to run a web server, but no POWER hookup?

at the bush household, right next to jenna's fake id

  4. air-water planes? on Supercavitation: Ultrafast Underwater Weapons · · Score: 1

woah man. does this mean that we will have ships that fly in the air and then just go underwater to travel? this has definate possibilities, not only for wartime, but think of it.

"gee boss, air traffic seems heavy today"

    "well then go underwater"

    see what i mean?

  5. all out war? not today on AOL vs. Microsoft in Desktop War? · · Score: 1

all complaining aside, i think that whatever M$ does in their OS's that other companies like AOL, Earthlink, and so on will just have to deal with it.
it has already been proven that M$ can legally monopolize an industry (Netscape and MSIE and win95) and there is nothing we can do about it (us gov vs. M$). its just a fact of life that we have to deal with. BUT FEAR NOT linux users! none of us are dumb enough to use aol and dont care enough about m$ to give a damn. and even if this battle goes to court and M$ loses, they turn a 180 and the rest of the industry including AOL is screwed.

    oh well, thats life.

maybe i am just too drunk to realize it, but i think there are a ton of these cases.
everybody from napster to 2600 to renegade OLGA is being sued.

i am now under the impression that this, just like the dot.com boom, will fade and everybody will realize what schmucks they were being. again, i predict the downfall being them taking out a site everybody likes, and hits a nerve. to hell with them all. and if they take out http://www.basstabarchive.com i am gonna organize a coup de tat on the government that let them win and them. same for /.

  7. MEDIA! on Sean In The Middle · · Score: 1

    want my take?

trust me on this one. i think the problem lies in the media pressure to 'make' our schools safe. you know how we do that? get rid of the media. as i see it, its like airplane crashes: its the safest way to travel, but the media jumps on it because it only happens once or twice every year. schools are safe, we have our grade nutso, but he is fine.

the media gets all over it cause its a disaster (?) this kid is totally right. people piss other people off to see them get mad and to 'be cool'. he was just acting on instinct, you know, survival of the fittest.

the school prinicipal was using no common sense when he made the decision. if he only used a little common sense to see what the hell these kids were doing to him, then it would be justified. and slap those suckers with a week of suspension.

although i do have to admit, he does fit the 'profile': introvert, not very social, bad with people, close group of tightly knit friends. it is a moral question, suspend and lose a kid, or put up with it and hope that he doesnt actually act on his words.

haha. whats a slashdot? reminds me of an unnamed cable company *cough* comcast *cough*. i asked the local office about beta testing in the area. "whats beta?" <click>

  8. Netscape Incident again? on Windows XP to Target MP3 Files · · Score: 1

This sounds familiar. Hmm, wasnt it Netscape who lost out when M$ bundled IE as the primo browser in Wintendo? So whoever is getting the money for mp3s (I think it said Thompson Multimedia SA) is getting gipped for their format. This also sounds like they definately have too much of a hold on the O/S market. Oh well. The only people who benefit from this are the makers of linux. More power to them.
