I think turning linux into one distribution will kinda ruin the way linux is. It's kinda nice to have many different flavors to choose from to your likings. Although some good things can be make out of it as well. Just hopefully if it ever does come to way, it will turn out stable, other wise it will be a waste of time and people will start using older standards of linux.
I think the DoS'ing crap would reduce tremendously if they took out the server name in WHOIS replies.
EFnet does go through tough times, but I just think of this as a way to improve and secure EFnet better for the worst.
