    Same thing here in the Netherlands, cable modems are available for a few months and still in the process of getting connected. If you want one, you have to wait for at least a month. Good thing the boss thought we needed a T1 :-)

    Slightly, no, completely offtopic...but, as far as the government is concerned, the Netherlands strictly follow the USA. Aside from the "liberal" drugs-policies that made us "famous" or at least well-known, we're hard on our way to be Americanized, so to speak. The record companies over here are exactly the same companies as in the US ergo the battle is fought over there, not here. The media coverage over the last 6 months in the whole country about equals the number of Jon Katz articles the last week...

    Which is exavtly the reason you shouldn't keep those promises. Actually doing what you said you'd do will force you to come with an entirely new promise. And that's not all environmentally friendly. Campaign promises should be recycled as much as possible.

    That's definitely not what I consider an I-Mac to be worth, considering the hardware I could get if I spent that same amount on parts to assemble my own box.

    With all due respect, but this not indicate to speed of the Mac, but the fact that you did not "Tweak" Windows correctly. When I boot up my Celeron 450 with 64 MB Ram, WinMe takes less time to load than the Bios. The next time your Winblowz install slows to a crawl, you might want to take a look in
    HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run

    All the crap in there is ran automatically at bootup, also all the crap you thought is uninstalled.

    how, and if so when will I be able to port this to an affordable computer. This is not a Mac flame(tm), this is just a question from someone who does not want to shell out the amount of cash required to buy a Mac.
