This may be off topic but it seems corporate america is increasingly holding a death grip on the broadband access which everyone will eventually be using. I wonder if they will become the stanard oil of tommorow. Making the consumer sign rediculous end user agreements and blocking access to sites in their firewalls/routers such as at&tsucks.com (or whatever address 2600 decides to register).
Well short of having any formal documents to confirm this guy's story, we can make a pretty good guess at this guys truthfullness.
First off this guys stats are throught the roof for about a year and he is still at spot #94 for all time RC5 crackers. It would take quite a few p3's to crack as many blocks in 1999 as this guy did, at least 50-150. These stats drop drastically about after July 2000 which certainly supports his story about getting caught.
Second, no one has come forward to refute his story. I'm sure that the email address which was posted that correlates to the RC5 stats is being flooded with email full of questions relating to the post.
Third, the member in the forum who posted was of "member" status not "junior" status which gives more credibility to this being an actual fact rather than some dumb joke.
Keep in mind that none of this is concrete evidence it merely supports the story given to us.
So the real question is, when is the population going to be tech savvy enought to use all this kind of stuff? The answer: As soon as the Microsoft OS that will invariably be running on it all stops crashing (NEVER).
Well I've been dying for Star Wars to come out on DVD for a long time...but i'm NOT going to buy this two disc set. WHY? Because lucas has already announced he has plans for a special boxed set. I keep hearing these responses saying "why oh why doesn't lucas include The Phantom Edit, or the extra seens branched into the movie?" The answer to this is simple guys, he's going to put it all in later so everyone who buys now will want to buy another edition later. Come on now doesn't anyone remember the twenty different VHS boxed set lucas released for the original Star Wars Trilogy?
The artists should take their piece of the pie

I wonder how long it is going for popular musicians and their agents to figure out how much money can be made by licensing their songs to companies like napster? Seems to me the artists could get napster and similar companies to pay them for exclusive online use of their songs. I'm sure it would be much cheaper for the consumer than going through our ever more greedy friends the record companies.

Ethernet won't last long ? How do you come do that conclusion ? Currently ethernet is the cheapest, fastest, and most widely used technology for home and business networks. With 1GB ethernet currently being employed in the highest-end networks, eventually coming to the home (granted it will be awhile) and the new 10GB ethernet standard on the horizon, how can you possibly say it'll be extinct in about 5-10 years??? Granted coax cable has potential I doubt it will ever be able to surpass the ether.
