    Really?

Dr Logan said it was vital to understand both these permanent genetic and temporary olfactory changes that were taking place.

He said: "Mosquitoes are very good at evolving very very quickly."

So there are genetic chsnges being attributed to this along with the scientist saying mosquitos are good at evolving quickly. Yeah, clearly it's not evolution. *rolls eyes*

That was two separate things, the genetic changes (introduced in the lab) and the temporary olfactory changes.

Earlier research by the same team found that genetic changes to the same species of mosquito can make them immune to Deet, although it was not clear if there were any mosquitoes like this in the wild.

but they aren't using symbian on entry level phones. That is where their series40 operating system dominates. i think the last symbian phone made was the 808 which came out at the beginning of last year as basically a tech demo for their new camera sensor.

Any new nokia phone out there is either windows, or series 40.

There are still older phones out there running symbian, and they are most certainly smart phones. In some ways android and iOS are only just catching up.

That betng said, my next phone will be Android, after Elop killed the symbian ecosystem.

Do you realise how cheap it is to live in these countries?

I went to Cambodia/Thailand a couple of years ago, a three course meal a a decent restaurant cost under US$20 for two of us including many beer/wines. Much much cheaper at a "local's" restaurant or cook yourself.

I would assume that accommodation would be similarly cheap.

Unless this is sarcasm as Laos is basically third world.

Yep, realised my mistake, replied to the AC as such.

This is infrasonic so referring to it by note name is a bit silly anyway other than referencing it as having a frequency of G * 1/2^n

I think at this frequency, Hz or just as the summary says 8 octaves below the lowest G on a piano is more meaningful.

btw. it is not trivia I picked up accidentally, I did study music theory, I just haven't made any use of it for 15 years or so, understandably it's getting a bit rusty.

Sorry my mistake, It's been a while since I have done much music theory. In my head I was thinking G with the minor 7th note added as opposed to the major 7th chord which has the major 7th added (in this case F#).

I have no excuse for putting the Bb in there other than I copied from the GP without reading properly.

My apologies for being slightly misleading.

No the note G -7, (that is g negative 7) Middle C is C4 the G note below middle C is G3, so this is 10 octaves below that note.

But you are also correct that the G7 (should be G superscript 7) chord, which is the G minor 7 chord has thee notes G, Bb, D, F
