I have it documented here. It is my first and only 'cease & decist' letter. I can't say that what I did wasn't wrong, but it sucks that my DSL had to go away for a while...
Ralph: This is my swing set. This is my sandbox. I'm not allowed to go in the deep end. That's where I saw the leprechaun!
Bart: Right, a leprechaun.
Ralph: He told me to burn things.
Bart: Uh huh...
There's 12318241398 Gazillion (very wild guess) unclassified species, a majority of which sit in the ocean, and they can honestly say that there's nothing that produces a rust color naturally???
PC manufacturers will retain the option of putting icons directly onto the Windows desktop. Based on extensive customer usability studies, Microsoft had designed Windows XP to ship with a clean desktop and improved Start menu, but PC manufacturers will now have the option of continuing to place icons on the Windows desktop if they want to.
For most people who run computers with a default manufacturer's install of any Windows OS, the desktop is always bloated whether it comes with the icon's on the desktop or not. The level of expertise for that average user isn't high enough to know of any directory other than c:\windows\desktop, to which they are under the impression is their root directory if you notice Windows filesystem hierarchy. Having seen one too many home user's systems, I understand that even windows can be too complicated for some people. They save everything onto the desktop! I've seen some people whose desktop's were so full icons they started pouring off the screen! Why Microsoft would want to ship their desktop "clean" is beyond me, they should already know that "clean" isn't going to stay that way for very long.
Anyone have any good links on where to get an iBook? I went on pricewatch.com and all I found were iBook's that only come with macOS9. After reading everyone's opinions.. I'd like to take a closer look and put better consideration into turning to the mac side....
This is probably a little too late to reply, but I hope ya catch this...
A guy I work with, his daughter is an MIT student who was involved in this student prank. The goal was to prove what can be done with photoshop. The cat was lured into the jar with a treat, as soon as the cat went into the jar, it's picture was taken... in photoshop it was then made to appear that the cat was crunched up inside of the glass. There was absolutely no harm done to an animal, except for maybe the unhealthy treat.
...okay, if this were you, would you not be severely ticked? Taken prisoner for commercial purposes, and exploited for over a year? I'm sorry, but i'd have had to kill someone sometime in there....
If they could get decent bandwidth out of it, I mean, where I am, DSL is $80 a month and it's available in only one small part of town. Oh yeah, and i would have the modem already =)
The only reason I would fork over the cash for something like that, is to see the future. But that's not much of an issue, I look forward to dying as an old man. So because you people will be pioneering toward the future, and us lazy people still wanna see what's ahead in time without the immortal side effects..... Will there be a service sometime that I could use to be removed from my timeline and taken to the future as soon as Time Travel is invented?
Who needs unhealthy fps games like Quake? Games that teach you that killing human shaped things in a non realistic environment is OKAY? I would not want my children playing such awful awful kinds of entertainment. Pointing & Shooting? Why, no wonder so many kids are shooting up schools!
I would much rather my children play healthy, non fps games that teach them healthier lessons! Like Need for speed 3 or Grand Theft Auto 2. This way my kids will learn valuable driving skills and will know the proper respect to give authority figures.
Anyone can sue anyone for any reason, it's whether you win the lawsuit or not that makes the difference. If launch has the licenses necessary to broadcast the said copyrighted material, then the RIAA or anyone else doesn't have much of a lawsuit. I've been sued before; the plaintiff didn't get very far, but they still filed the lawsuit...
Okay, I got all this from an old man who I work with that used to work for the NSA, this is what he says, I dunno if he is nuts or not.....
The CIA has their main building that is built within another building, and between the two buildings... white noise is pumped throughout. There is a good reason for this, *THEY* (NSA, CIA, MIB, Echeleon, whoever you are paranoid against) have the technology to sniff your keystrokes from about 50 yards away, even with your traditional wired keyboard. In some cases they can read even the radiation from your monitor.
If alldas doesn't become as popular as attrition, please watch for a sudden drop in defacements. The driving force for 99.9% of all defacements is for people to get attention. Most of the websites hit actually get the more traffic than they've ever got once they get posted on attrition. Who honestly cares about www.randomschoolinsomebackyardstate.k12.xx.us?? It's just a forum for underachievers to get attention. I think that with attrition leaving the scene, this entire web defacement trend just might calm down a bit.
I work on an army base. About a month ago, the entire Installation had our little practice excercises. It lasted one week, and we made it all the way up to Threatcon DELTA (The highest level of threat). During this time there was...
Bombings
Spies Peering into places
Security Checkpoints almost everywhere
Attacks on networks (software AND hardware)
Power outages
Phone outages
All simulated of course. From the Army's standpoint, it was a great training excercise. From the contractor's standpoint, it was a huge hassle, but I learned a lot regardless. That was my experience though.

I was going to suggest Kryptonite as a name for your next app, but nevermind

This means that DNA evidence can no longer be allowed to stand up in court. It's only 99.999998% effective, you know.
