I am pretty sure there exist true two-way satellite isp's that panama could use aren't there? Couldn't these provide the outside links to the rest of the world on a intranet of WiFi. That community wireless project.... Anyway the prohibition will doubtless make SOMEONE some money providing unrestricted service, as always happens when governments seek to impose their agenda's on a populace that doesn't want to hear it (hence speakeasys, the "war on drugs", most consenual crime, etc).

    From the Site

    United States Postal Service
The Post Office Department was transformed into the United States Postal Service, an independent establishment of the executive branch of the Government of the United States. The mission of the Postal Service remained the same, as stated in Title 39 of the U.S. Code: "The Postal Service shall have as its basic function the obligation to provide postal services to bind the Nation together through the personal, educational, literary, and business correspondence of the people. It shall provide prompt, reliable, and efficient services to patrons in all areas and shall render postal services to all communities."

    The Iomega HipZip supports ogg.

If I was a hardware manufacturer tho, I would definatly be waiting for Ogg 1.0/final/non-rc to try to implement it. Alot of these devices with flashram that said they would support future formats, but a non-finalized one would be a hard sell for any format.

Well since slashdot.org has a link to their site, isn't THIS site helping people find out about pirated games? Isn't this the natural extension of the DeCSS ruling? If you establish that site as illegal than linking to it or just saying "www.isonews.com" becomes illegal.

Actually the whole internet is must really be just one big copyright infringment device.

"ACK! you could find pirated music, games and movies on the internet. Lets just dismantle the whole thing, outlaw it or better yet, make everyone pay a licensing fee to us "copyright holders" to access the internet?" -Mass Media Industry

Ok I'm going way off the point, but you see where it could go?

I think someone should establish a De-CeaSe and deSist fund to write Cease and Desist harrassment letters to the lawyers who write them.

Anyway, get my point. If you make that place illegal you would have to make this place illegal, after all they are just talking about piracy, not doing it, we are talking about talking about it, is that ok? Probably not to Sega because it still means you are saying it can be done.

    OK All that said:
These people ARE being stupid. Reality is such that lawyers exist, if your content is controversial, go a little underground, don't get up in a crowd and shout SUE ME! Then we wouldn't have to hear about the nasty letters anymore, and the people who are into that can go on being into that.
