  1. Maximum PC on Building the Quiet PC · · Score: 1

I saw an article in a Maximum PC a few months ago on how to build a silent PC.
They got a computer down from 47db to 34.6db
They used a Fujitsu HD, powerman PS, and a PC power and cooling silencer fan.
You might be able to find something on there website.

That would be a cool hack.

send a big Base stating with Solar panels that charges batteries, and a bunch of smaller robots with no solar panels which stay in the general vicinity and get a charge when they need it.

I was studying for my a+ certification,
and in the book it mentioned using Overhand knots in the line to protect against Lightening.
Basically, the power of the charge will burn out the cord when it crosses over itself like that.
The guy in the book said he had a giant thunderstorm one year, and all his stuff with Overhand knots survived, while most everything else didn't.
The Author was Mark Minassi or something like that.

I have a p120 with 32 megs of Ram running Mpxplay (Gasp! Dos!) on boot.
I am also in the midst of buying a 4x40 Text lcd, and that goes in my second Din Slot.
For input, I have a numeric Keypad Velcroed to the dash.
I was really looking into getting a 4" NTSC LCD, but you would then have to buy a GPS system, since it is illegal to have a LCD in view of the driver if it does not have GPS.

And, do you think a p120 would play them ok?
or would they require too much power than that cand provide?

    You are sad, very sad.
I have RoadRunner, it only goes out when the electric does, so I can't use it anyways.
Oops, I forgot, you have your basement filled with leadAcid batterys so you will never be without a computer.
Lemme guess, you also have an I-opener in the Crapper so you can check your e-mail when "Other" business arises.
Go outside, get some fresh air, take a walk, something, but don't pay 40$ a month so you will have a backup connection for a few hours a month or so. Thats redicoulas.
IF you really want to, I would use Freesco, it allows connecting 3 networks together, and it just sees the cable modem as a network, I use it right now, ( I have it running on a p75 with 4 megs Ram) and it works great, Runs Linux, and was a sinch to install.

My speaker wire is actually Cat-5.
Works great though, I have never took the Volume past half way, as I'm afraid of blowing my front speakers (which are actually pretty good, they are semi-audiophile grade from the 80's).

What to do if you have it is a simple exercise.
    1. Hold your arms out straight, palms up
    2. bend your hands towards the ground, and pull your arms towards your head.

That will help out a lot, its why my dad hasn't had it lately.

I have never installed any Mac OS, but, does anyone know where I can get a copy from like the 8.0 series? My sisters Mac could use a fresh start. And I would like to try installing Yellow Dog on it first.

BTW, I might possibly use XP when I upgrade, but I sure as hell am not going to be paying for it, atleast full price. I'll probably build a new computer for my mom, and split the price with her.

And, I am putting a mp3 system in the trunk, and possibly a cross over cable attached in the back seat so that friends can sync laptops.
I am actually thinking of running Viavoice, so that I could have voice control, but right now I am only running dos on the computer, and its only 120mhz, so Windows would kinda kill it.
