  1. Update: re-connecting to AirPort on Apple Fills Your Tuesday With Updates · · Score: 2, Informative

I managed to get my Powerbook to automatically re-join my AirPort network after waking from sleep.

In the 'Network Port Configurations' of the Network system preferences, I had the following checked:

USB Bluetooth Modem Adaptor, Internal Modem, Built-in Ethernet, AirPort

I un-checked the Bluetooth and Internal Modem, and now the computer re-joins the network after waking from sleep.

  2. AirPort update on Apple Fills Your Tuesday With Updates · · Score: 4, Informative

If this update is supposed to fix wake-up problems with AirPort, I have yet to see it.

The last security update broke re-joining my network after waking up from sleep, and this update hasn't changed that.

The X11 you could download for Jaguar was a BETA, and was never intended to be production-quality.

Also, Apple never promised that the finished version would work on Jaguar.

I think this part of the article is significant:
One problem, he said, is that companies will tend to keep under wraps the results of commissioned studies that turn out unfavorably. That means the public may get only part of the story when it reads a report sponsored by one of its subjects. "We're only seeing the ones they want us to see," Cherry said.

Calling The Sun a "newspaper" is being more than a little generous.

I wouldn't believe anything in that rag unless I could confirm it in about five other, indipendent, sources.

Your comments about MLB are a distinction without a difference. Yes, it is true that there is no legislated anti-trust exemption for Major League Baseball. However, as you say in your post, the courts have consistently said that they're exempt from the laws.

What difference does it make how they got their exemption?

Well, I ran the update today too, and here's the output on my powerbook:
