How dare you say I have acne! :P

But serious, yes I do. I don't think the cameras are blurry as they are AFAIK there to prove/disprove someone getting robbed at them. Because most people who get stuck up at one of them here are reimbursed. Also to get the license plate when trucks rip them out of the walls I imagine. Either way I got my money with no hassle. I also don't use those shitty 3rd party ATMs just the ones from the local banks.

I got shorted $20 dollars once. Luckily I counted it in front of the ATM (which has a video, most here do) and got really pissed off.

I held it up and counted, like there was a little guy in there and started screaming at it. I went to my bank the next day, and the say they had to review it. A few days later they credited me. I assume one of the things they did was look at the tape.

Now I always count it in front of the camera so if there is a problem I've got proof.

  3. Potatoe Guns are great. on Potato Bazookas · · Score: 1

There is something about taking an inert object like a potatoe and launching it at deadly speed hundreds of yards that is just hilarious. I remember years ago, we were hanging out with a bunch of girls from a nearby suburb of Boston. We were near my house and I mentioned it. They were all like "whats so funny about that", I grabbed it and some ammo and we headed to the beach. BOOOOM. We're shelling an uninhabited island in the harbor and sure enough, they all start convulsing with laughter. I guess it's like when you're little and adults say nonsensical things and you find it funny. POTATOES + PVC + STARTER FLUID = FUN.

They are very dangerous. I can't imagine what would happen if someone got hit and wouldn't want to. We shot a potatoe THROUGH a 1/2 piece of plywood! A friend had a car corpse in his front yard and we used it for target practice and the impacts were unbelievable. I never did complete me golf ball version. Now that would be scary. A guy can hit those a quarter mile never mind a launcher...

  4. BS! A web page is a document not a doc browser. on SBC Patents Links, Dynamic Pages · · Score: 2, Interesting

The language of the patents cover document browsers. Web pages are documents, you know that things that are browsed by document browsers.

Even though it's a bull shit patent I could see trying to say it covered Explorer/Mozilla/Opera.. etc, but web pages? Come on.

IANAL but if a web page can constitute a legally binding agreement isn't that legal proof that it's simply a document?

Thanks for the link. It wasn't a case supply, but rather the power adapter for the hub.

Having a ton of equipment in my house, I had on occasion wondered if something like that could happen. A couple months back I had a netgear hub start acting whacky, later that day I heard a loud crack which at first I thought was a gunshot.

It turns out it was the powersupply exploding. The plastic top blew off hard enough to make a mark in the ceiling. Examaning the supply, it looks like it was a tiny chip in the adapter. Part of it was not melted so much as cauliflower looking like a silicon STD. Perhaps they were made by Innova?

This was only my second experience of something frying in all my years of computing but I do wonder what the actual rates of this type of failures.
