From my understanding the use would be for for instance police officers, I do not know but I would at least assume that there is such a thing as hallways. If you read the article on the SABC website you will see that the solution should not transmit bovine diseases to humans. More important then foot and mouth disease, which actually is not that dangerous to humans the Mad Cow disease should also not be considered as a potential threath this disease is actually believed to be dangerous for humans.
It does seem like a good blood substitute in certain situation alhtough I forsee problems if implemented as a "normal" transfusion fluid since there are religions that would forbid the use of this substitute.
All in all it seems like a good idea, my only wonder is will this blood also clog (spelled right ?) and if so do the bloodtypes that apply to humans apply to cows ?

No, it will not be stopped it will continue to grow. Here in the netherlands we have a quite liberal approach to Cannabis, now one might say, why does this apply. Well the illegal scene around Canabis in the US is way bigger then the same scene in the Netherlands merely because it is illegal in one country and illegal in the other.
Here is my point, what one creates is illegal activity, and for what ? For music artists that makes millions and millions of dollars each year, for software companies that makes Bill-ions (read Microsoft). The market that is taken away because of "illegal copies" is not as big as they claim, if it were that big they would not be making enough money to sustain themselves and would die out.
True, it is a shame that it had to come to this, but did these same persons that now cry wolf not instigate this themselves by selling their product at high prices while still making millions per single and billions per new release of software, and I think it is here the real problem lies.

Now I stop and wonder, this is of course a step closer to a complete VR-world, but how would one fix to have a second person there. This technique seems to me to be limitated to only one person, unless of course there is a second sphere somewhere, either in same room or in a different room. Which brings us to the next problem, if in the same room you can bump into each other but are still quite far from each other. At least I see that sphere as at least the size of the person, in my case that would be 6'8'' in the case that you have a 2'4'' person(which is unlikely but still) you would have two spheres of a total of 10' that means there is a distance of 5' and still you bump into each other. On the other hand in two different rooms you have the following problem, how can you bump into each other, or better said can you bump into each other
In my opinion it is a good step into developing a new VR-Experience but it is still just as the cave limited, just in a different way

The exploration of a different planet than the earth might teach us so much
What I fail to see in here is why are photo's taken from orbit so important. Of course I know that even if you take 1*10^999999 foto's it will not capture a complete picture of the planet in all it's detail, but are marslander projects not a manyfold times more important. Because to be able to take samples and examine those would be alot more usefull.
It seems to me that we could learn about what all Mars could have to offer, maybe not as a place to life but more as a refuel station perhap ? granted.. the chances of this working and succeeding do depends alot on how willing they will still be to show what they can, but would you not agree that if they could just get over the hump of "Well I don't have to show off now anymore" they could do alot better. Is it not so that it should actually be, that they show off for the citizens of the respective countries
When they get sufficiently powerful, & we in the west realise we have a fight on our hands, we may find ourselves in another sort of Cold War.I suspect propoganda will be even more important this time. Problem is, it'll probably be much scarier next time.

Yes I would agree with you on this, I would move it even up one level and would suggest these countries including European spaceagencies should work together this would have 2 effects: 1. Worldpeace would be a step closer since the worldpowers are working together, they will understand each other alot better. 2.
