Your key duties as PM of ROT is to refresh constantly so you can take your whack at FP, you will also have to link goatse.cx and speak of hot grits whenever possible. You will have to lead by example with snide and off color comment about Hemos and CmdrTaco, as well as attack any karma whores that try to add anything useful to any topic.

Do you think you can handle it? I mean after your stunning display of FP abilities, we don't want a flash in the pan. What other skills do you possess besides modesty?

Humm, according to one patent lawyer's website (the bastard), the patent laws are an ever evolving creature. There has been quite a bit of activity on the length of patents in the last 15 years or so. 6. Re:Diamondtron? on Sony Pursues New Digital Display Technology · · Score: 2
The length of a patent varies by what time it was issued and what kind of article was being patened. I.E. a patent may be good for 50 years if issued today, but in the sixties it may have been good for only 25, versus a patent issued at the turn of the century may be good for a 100 years. Obviously my examples are not based in reality, I am trying to make a point. I believe currently the law states the patent is valid for 17 years.

Just doing a little bit of your own research will answer you own questions. I recommend a combination of Google and Encyclopedias.

Neither the definition, nor my comments said you would be commanded to forfeit the use of your computer or your OS. The fact of the matter is, if someone wants a copy they can get one (read - a good that is common and available to all that need it), and don't argue that not everyone has access to the internet and therefore it's not available to all, since people who don't use or have access to a computer (with a burner if you are an ISO collector as I am) would even want the item.

I was merely providing Webster's definition of communism since there seemed to be some doubt to what the word meant. You are correct, the OS wars are not a political one (well, MS's court case might be), but Linux has a communistic idealogy (again, not that there is anything wrong with that, I like free software as much as anyone). The problem is people relate the word communism with the Evil Empire (USSR), the same way people relate socialism with the Third Reich, but most of the Europe and Canada are functioning quite well with goverments that can only be described as socialistic (which I believe is the best form of goverment anyway).

That it's free and infinitely configurable and if it doesn't do something you want it to, you can just create it?

I like that idea of a standardized Linux distro, maintaining some sort of consistency should brought to the forefront. The one thing about a Microsoft admin (a good one that is), is that he/she can take that knowledge to another MS environment and apply that knowledge.
