So DLC maketh the game? not sure I'd agree with that. Some things that GHWT is likely to have (superior hardware, for a start) also weigh in quite heavily.
Not particularly. As long as Harmonix/EA/MTV are treating the UK market with the utter contempt they've shown with Rock Band so far, I'd rather give my money to Activision even if the DLC isn't up to scratch. And if Activision don't go with the ridiculous pricing EA have, then I most certainly won't be alone.
And it's not like the UK gets it worst. It's even worse if you're in Australia or some other parts of Europe.
Charging twice the price for the game in Europe (roughly double the normal markup for games/hardware of this nature) and lying about it in multiple interviews.
640K of RAM? We had to put up with 1K. Oh, how I envied the kids down the road who had the top-of-the-range model with 16K that could cope with displaying the screen and carrying out calculations at the same time...
I managed to embed that code into a message on a certain.NET-based message board when the administrators refused to believe that they had it configured in a not-overly-secure way.
This is a documented feature of the system and has been since day one. I installed Linux shortly after the UK launch, and it really isn't anything to write home about - no support for hardware accelerated 3D, and a processor that really isn't designed for general-purpose computing. Novelty value for a couple of minutes, sure, then back to gaming on the PS3 and Linuxing on a real PC.
You can see here, the Router orbiting the forest moon of Endor. Although the download systems on this Router are not yet operational, the Router does have a strong defense mechanism. It is protected by a firewall which is generated from the nearby forest moon of Endor.
The firewall must be deactivated, if any torrent is to be downloaded.
Once the firewall is down, our servers will create a tracker, while our admins hack into the system and attempt to inject the fake contact.
Does this last section make sense? No? So what? Do you really think it has to? Look at their other arguments for making P2P illegal - do they make sense? Didnt think so.;-) Actually, I was fairly convinced by that argument they made about Chewbacca. I mean, they have a point. Why would a Wookie live on Endor?
That's because they're all too busy playing Guitar Hero. Get rid of these feeble instrument simulation games and replace them with good old swastikas, copies of Mein Kampf, and invasions of Poland, and soon we'll be able to ditch Medal of Honor as well.
Why would the Gates family feel any obligation to fund a war museum in another country? How is not doing so a lack of 'class'? This makes so little sense that I can only assume it's some variation on the Chewbacca defence...
What version of Godwin's law are you working with? The law states: "As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one."
Your ability to reply is not impacted by this law.
Actually, Sun used to have my favourite EULAs in the computing world. Because they displayed them in editable text areas. The contracts into which I have entered with Sun in order to download Java are many and varied, as a result. And Sun still owe me upwards of $10m for using their software.
Then you're in such a minority that you probably don't make a difference to this prediction.
We're talking about the mass market here, and what really drives that is price and availability. And right now BRD hardware and software are far too expensive to meet these targets, and aren't sufficiently widely available. To hit 50% of the market against competition with an obscene install base advantage I'd expect Blu-Ray discs to need to sell for substantially less than their DVD equivalents, and that's not going to happen any time soon.

That's really not good for anyone, is it, Eric?

It changed one or two minds. ;)
Indiana Jones and the Still Beating Heart of George Lucas
Seriously, if the franchise really depends on Lucas coming up with a good idea, they might as well call it a day right now.
In your 'reasons DVD is better than BluRay', points two and three are the same, points 4, 7, 8 and 10 are completely wrong.
As a result, your entire 'reasons BluRay is better' list is based on false assumptions.
Okay, carry on.
Because they've always been entirely complimentary towards the 360 and Wii.
Or, you know, that other things account for more environmental damage than the packaging for the license on a per-machine basis.
No, that would be Sneaky Pete's Key.
Poor Sneaky Pete. <sniff>

That doesn't answer the question, though.

How about "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."?
This is Slashdot. News for nerds. Don't multiply by two - just bitshift left by one.

And rightly so, too.

> Pregnancy is costly to a woman, but less so to a man.
I have two colleagues who will tell you that thanks to the assistance of the Child Support Agency this is no longer the case.
