The FCC costs of regulating even more frequencies for consumer goods makes this only a gimmick.

It's fascinating sometimes how a system of law meant origionaly to protect common man from his own stupidity, has been outpaced by the common man in terms of ability to legslate issues. The men and women deciding this case have no clue as to the nature of this matter in terms of the true technical scope. They dive in and out of the subject, attempting to pull forth understandible nuggets and concepts for the rest to swallow, but ultimately both sides undermine their case by not being able to grasp the entirety as opposed to the sound bite. Putting a wrapper on someone's ability to conceieve a notion, execute it, and propagate it in terms of the internet is impossible, period.

very unfeasible - likely to be the recreational equivalent for a sailboat of the future, where the rest of us will burn energy like mad on the going to and from like we do today. Very Romantic though. Reminds me of the journey scene from TRON.

Just because a lab coat created a 40 hour fruit fly instead of a 20 hour one, doesn't mean Jack in terms of replication of the event to Human Organism #1. Fruit Flies aren't people. The reason why they are easy to disect and assemble genetically is their own simplicity compared to humans. All this news is to someone in the field is a cute line-item on future funding proposal requests. Not a biblical Omen.
