I'm in Japan right now, and some of my friends here have bought them. Personally, I don't think it's worth the money, at least not now. Basically, as you know with any system, it's all about the games. All the ones I've seen have been nothing special. F-zero is just like the SNES, Super Mario is really just Super Mario 2 (supposedly never released in Japan), and Napolean(a strategy game) is just...not that great.
When better games come out it might be more worth it-but for now there's no need to rush. The system's only $100 but games are like $40.
Cool things are-the text in Napolean seems to be anti-aliased, and supposedly you can play multiplayer games with multiple gameboys, without everyone having a cartridge (NOT the case for Napolean though). The cartridges are literally like 1/3 as tall as a gameboy one-gameboy cartridges stick way out the back.
The killer app is probably going to be Mario Kart, but honeslty my friends haven't touched theirs in weeks.
