Books became available in canada very recently. Music works (though you need an American IP to set it up but after that it works on any device as long as you log in purchasing not included). Videos are now available. I'm thinking this will be officially in Canada very soon. Google seems to have made a push for Canada as their market, which I think is bloody brilliant considering nobody else markets to Canada.

Honestly I'd be okay with it if it were stored in some datacenter without any realtime measures and if it is video only.

This would provide a deterrent from crime as the ability to be apprehended is higher but would keep the matter of privacy relatively low.

That's just depressing. People need to stop making assumptions based on rhetoric from the companies they are representing (indirectly). The worst (for me) is when someone says, "oh I want to make iPhone apps because you have to support hundreds of platforms of android", this is basically the mindset for designers and such since Steve Jobs said that during the iPhone4 release. Of course he said he was quoting a blog post from Tweetdeck. Tweetdeck of course responded saying they were not forced to, they astounded that they could. Where was I going again. Oh right, people need to be less susceptible to marketing propaganda.

because that's exactly what /dev/random does. And if he/she is referring to urandom, it still refreshes the seed when new entropy such as key strokes are added to the system. I don't think that he/she understands that /dev/random is as close to random as a packet capture will be. Infact as many frames will have similar headers similar content like http traffic /dev/random will provide much more entropy than packet captures.

I too like it. What I find more annoying is trying to alt-tab into a different instance of the same program in the SAME workspace. it hides it in a drop menu. THE FUCK!?!. Also it doesn't seem to work with my propitiatory graphics drivers (luckily I've learned to live without) and the Network manager is fucking trash compared to the gnome2 version (fallback mode also uses the old one)

Humble bundle makes more money from Linux & Mac user combined than Windows by it self, therfor you are limited to less than fifty percent. While in many cases that is alright, I think you are ignorant of why people use Linux. It's used because it's nicer and faster than windows, we are willing to pay for software but their is never this consideration.

  11. Google Brand on Ask Slashdot: How Do You Protect Data On Android? · · Score: 1

The majority of android devices don't allow you to simply access the usb storage of them. You must be using a Motorola device. I thoroughly recommend using a Google branded device in the future. The Nexus S for example doesn't have removable storage and can only be connected through USB if you have the password or USB debugging mode was already enabled. Beyond that Google keeps their software up-to-date therefor mitigating any type of exploits. As well if you decide to root the device it force wipes the data already on it before allowing you access to the device.
