You can write bad code in any language. Besides, that line is not too bad. The only thing making it unreadable is the spacing.

  3. Re:POP on What Mailbox Format Do You Use And Why? · · Score: 1

Umm. IMAP allowes for Authentication Extentions, like KERBEROS. To find out what extensions are supported you would use the capability command. Plain RFC2060 IMAP however does use plain-text authentication via login as opposed to authenticate.

Other than that, IMAP is different conceptually from POP. It allowes for server-side permanent mail storage AND management, which includes flags and so on. This means that you can synchronise messages between computers without any difficulties. There is also server-side searching and other nice things which make IMAP cool.

From the client side IMAP is thus far superior. Server side however...well the server has to store all the messages all the time. I could see definite storage issues over time (if you consider attachments and so on). Plus you have to rely on the server to make proper backups.

I agree, but there is also an issue of what you want to get out of school, personally I already had all the skills I needed before I went to college. I am quite capable of sitting down with a book and learning what I need to know.

Taking the CIS route just ensured that I would be out of school faster and start making money ASAP. Taking CIS to LEARN is a whole different ball game, and I do not recommend it. If I had spare time I would gladly take CS to sharpen my skills (especially theory-wise), but I simply do not want to spend 5+ years getting an education when I can spend this time working.

As far as jobs go, 99% of the time CIS students can get CS jobs, granted they have the skills. It is not about the degree you have, it is about what you can do and if you can apply your knowledge in a real life situation.

Republican wit is at an all time low. Sore/Loserman? Come on. You are too busy being arrogant and loud to come up with a good or at least clever insult. This could all be over had there been a mandatory drug test for all presedential candidates. We all know that Ralph Nader's "Green Party" is made up of drug dealers who supplied Dubya with grass instead of soft money. And let us not forget "Mother's against drunk presidents".
