Why? Because with that extra money you save (its about $30 for their software) you can buy a game, and have enhanced graphics. And you can patch the software so you can copy the games, and most people can patch better then they can open their ps up and insert a mod chip... Also, with a computer you can do all sorts of great stuff you cant with a normal ps1, like screen shots, modify that last game shot so your score is higher, use any cheap peice of hardware, use your monitor, use your optical logitec mouse, ect.
But the best reason for me was I didnt have to get a TV I hate Tv, so this makes it better. Granted you dont get to play all the games, but you get enough.

After all as long as they continute to use hardware that can be easily put into a computer (eg: standard cdrom or dvd) they will get this type of problem. I personaly dont understand why anyone would even want to play a playstation anymore, I would rather use a computer with emulation because they can enhance every aspect.
The best part of emulation I have encountered is that I can use cheap controlers and have cheap game saving storage. I wont even get into the blockbuster rent thing...

Stienography doesnt always use a key (isnt logic the key?) and its encryption.
I personaly never liked any atarti games very much because my neigbors kicked my ass at everything, but I have always loved Zelda. I would really like a phone that has a version of that where you can continue on your quest while you are on hold, perhaps even get new quests via the net. I think atari games are a bit out, considering it doesnt take much to write any of those basic things. Why not RPGS? Why games like pong? I like snake, but to be honest, its boring.

Most theaters do it so they can sell another ticket (If you want to see this movie, you have to bring an adult with you...). I worked at a movie theatre for a good amount of time and I can tell you, that its bunk. There is no reason that a 16 year old boy/girl shouldnt be able to go see an R rated movie, because the MPAA has raters with a different dogma then these kids and their parents (IF they have parents). This is a war on the youth, and if you support that, well, fuck you. Teens and children are people too, if you put this on a system, your going to find your kids becoming criminals (because of the DCMA) much sooner then before. If your kids respect your wishes (becase respect is earned) then they might not want to play, and to destroy the want (say by not playing it infront of them) is better then to make them punished for having fun like daddy. It is censorship no matter how you look at it, and the difference from this and childproof lids is that medicine can kill a stupid child, a video game wont.
I rememeber hearing about the jews in WW2 being tortured if they couldnt tell the guard when a minute was up. They had a problem: no clock. So what did they do? They counted the beats of their heart, and with enough pratice they were able to get it in sync with the nazis test. They would be spared if they could tell when a minute was up (give or take a few seconds). I personaly think that this aproach does work, and that the clock doesnt always need to be in the processing area, eg: the heart (sure your counting with your brain...)... Perhaps I am wrong, but wasnt there a way to make the clock off cpu?
