They also reported that they are deploying an aircraft carrier to New York and one as close to DC as they can to supply air cover. I couldn't catch the names of the carriers dispatched.
Apparently they are putting George W on the Dooms Day plane. A plane they designed for the President in case of a nuclear attack. He can command the military forces and stay in the air for extended periods of time, is what they are saying. That is all I could pick up from the news.
I would have to say that Final Fantasy one through three(in the US) are some of the best games ever. I could play them over and over again and still go back for more. I remember renting the first one weekend after weekend and having to start at the beginning every time because it only had one save and keeping large amounts of caffeine and water on hand so we could stay awake to beat it. (This is back when rentals were one day) Another great game was Dune. I played that on my old 25 MHZ IBM and it took at least three hours to beat the simplest of levels. But that didn't stop me from playing two or three levels in a row, or at least switching out command with my best friend. There was also Contra and Super Tecmo Bowl(best football game ever, even if it was on NES). Even though I like the pretty graphics of most games today, I would give it up for some innovative games. I have a few games I play nowadays but nothing that rivals the time and fun I used to get out of the games I named above. My friends and I still break out Super Tecmo Bowl from time to time and as soon as I get my NES fixed I am going back to try four white wizards on Final Fantasy. Oh well, enough rambling, back to work.
Heck yeah, BRE ruled, I can still remember my strategies for that game, not that they were overly complicated. I also liked Overkill, I think that is what it was called. Oh and Druglord or Cartel, something to that effect. Those were the days. If not for running my own BBS shortly I wouldn't know much about computers. I think I need to get my fix of BBS games, I'm off to find some more.
I am not completely sure how it works, but I know that a group of students at my university wrote some code for a class that turned out to be really good apparently. The school owns it, but the professor gets a small cut of the profit and the students get barely anything, though they do get some. Maybe it is just me, but if anyone should make money off of it I thought it would be those that wrote it. I am pretty sure they get their names associated with it, so that should at least help when they are looking for a job, but they weren't being paid for it to begin with, they are all undergrads, it was just an assignment, I don't see how the school can claim ownership.
Actually, to any Jew or Christian, property is a God-given right. In fact, in the Bible there was a year of Jubilee, I believe that is what it was called, that occurred every fifty years, and when it came around everyone got the land they lost back, no matter how they lost it.
On the other hand, I agree with you on copyright. We made the system for our benefit, we should change it to fit our needs, not those of the large corporations. The current system definitely needs to be reformed and I doubt anyone on/. disagrees with that.
I would love to get into game programming. It is basically my life long dream job to make video games or computer games. I am still in college, but I think I know enough to make a decent game. Anyways, my question is... would it be a good idea to try and start developing for the Indrema or is there a better way to break into the business? I figure I could at least learn a few things as I go even if I never get to actually complete a real game. Just looking for some suggestions, thanks.
Alright! Who the hell ate my project for Digital Logic!?! I want answers and I want them now! I spent hours putting that together! I hate college roommates! How did I get stuck with you two? I should've never left food out where you guys could get to it, even if it did have logic chips and solder in it. I swear you two are hopeless!
What a great idea! A website where you submit your photo and let other people on the internet rate if you are hot or not. What a great way to break someone's ego or make someone's head too big to fit through the door. If only I could submit some small tidbit of advice too, like "Your nose is too big, get plastic surgery immediately". Coming up with comments would make this site that much more entertaining. Will the wonders of the internet never end?
On a more serious note... How many of these photos do you think are real? I've seen one or two that look like they are probably ripped off of a website.
I would like to patent the process of granting a patent without first thinking about how dumb that patent is. I have no name for this process yet, but for now I will refer to it as the USPTO.
Sure there is prior art, but is the USPTO really going to sue me and say that they granted a bunch of patents that make no logical sense? Plus now whenever they grant a patent that is dumb, I get to sue them, it ought to make them start spending more time reviewing how relevant or needed a patent truly is.
My question is will the monthly fee be the same for everyone? Not really fair to a user on a 28.8 connection who can download maybe a few CDs worth of stuff in a month compared to a nice T1 who can download the whole BMG library in that same amount of time.
I know plenty of students that buy Zip discs so they can download large files on the schools T1 connection and then take them home. Buying a zip disc, while it may not be anymore reliable than a floppy, is cheaper than paying for DSL or a Cable modem connection every month. I'm sure this can be applied to CD RW as well. I agree that using an easily accesible network is probably the best choice, but don't think that college kids are too cheap to buy something if they can find another good use for it.
