An intelligent combination of capacitors, solar power, wind power, and so on can make a difference. And 15 years from now, we should be able to store energy better - making solar power more attractive. This is the future. Aim for it.
Processing units must be protected against the radiation. This is expensive (weight) and you dont build a robot that *might* be used in a radiation environment. So not quick adaptibility here. Extreme heat and cold could be more interesting - these robots could be used for fighting fires or solve problems with (advanced) cooling systems.
But: For space, they try to use processing units with the ability to repair themselfes, rather than to use a radiation shields. They could be used for these robots, too.
Problem is, that most companys do not value this. I my opinion a shame, because experience is so important. (I am not THAT old, okay?)

Maybe they find a way to hear cool explosion sounds in space, too. That would be awesome!
Robots werent that helpfull at all. They failed in different tasks and needed a lot of maintenance ... despite the fun factor.
