Hopefully they (sega) are not using thier money for this project. It won't find any support and will die a horrible death. I normally like being optimistic about these things but what makes Sega think that coupling the DC with a tv tuner will turn around the dying system? Maybe if they had done this about 6 months before they annouced that they would stop supporting the DC and develop games for the PS2 it would of worked. Who do you know thats willing to fork out cash for a certainly dead system. Especially one that WON'T be able to play backup discs/homebrew hacks. Sorry Sega you should fire the guy who came up with this idea.

Add to this a radar to sense objects and a optical device to read the lines on the road. Then we could have self driving cars! Maybe we could get one of those annoying robot cab drivers from Total Recall in it! YEAH! people can't drive anyway think that whole drunk driving problem would just go away.

Companies pad the wallet for the campaigns of both parties, then wait until someone won't kiss thier ass, then get thier buddies who they help elected to do stupid things in thier intrest. One great example of this process is DMCA. How do we fix it? We can't because the public is brain washed by the media, which are owned by these companies.

How will any prevail? I guess you could run seti@home, distributed.net, prime95, and the rest on one box. Wouldn't that void the point? All this competition waters down each project.
should of been on that list. While during the course of my life I have played almsot every game mentioned in there picks. My parents never touched them. They sure did get down on some solitaire though.
I've heard rumors that this was happening since the day after the utopia boot cd was released. Its a bunch of bull. Its natural for people to assume that Sega will "fix" the DC so it won't be able to play cdrs. Fact is, it would cost Sega more to revamp the design and production than what is being lost on pirated games. Also, have you ever played a burnt DC game side by side with the original? There is a considerable difference with load/seek times. To nerds within the DC scene that isn't a big deal. For your average 14 year old with the attention span of a gnat it is a big deal. Truth is that there is a difference between the two and the originals are better than their burnt counterparts. Sega cares about pirated games, but they're not going to waste any more money than they have to.
This is an excellent example of how we as humans are rooted in our own definition of time. What other things could we not change if there was a clear better alternative?
You're not worried about wether people find out about a possible sercurity issue anymore. You worried about people coming to your web site so you can make $$$. Sure I need to make money as much as the next guy. Thats not the point. Do any of you really think this was the idea of any of the original L0pht members? Nope, its thier corp buddys they sold l0pht to.
So if you want to sing the song "Eat it" instead of "beat it" then you can without having to pay royalities..Wierd Al has made a career out of making parodies. As long as you are not releasing a duplicate and people clearly know its a parody you should be ok

Since the price has dropped down to $99 this hardware is a steal. I'm sure more mods/hacks will come out for it in time.
