You see Police do a lot of corrupt things for a lot of different reasons. One of the worst is to clock a car traveling well above the speed limit and then assign that recorded speed to the next car to come along.
This happened to me when I was pulled over for speeding without my radar detector going off. The cops claimed I was doing 71 Kph in a 50Kph zone. They were wrong on both counts.
1. The speed limit on that road is 80Kph 2. I was actually going just shy of 180Kph.
I pointed out item #1. without mentioning item #2 and avoided a ticket. The real trouble is that even if I had taken the ticket and challenged it in court I would be acquitted of the speeding charge but the cop would still be allowed to keep defrauding motorists in this way.
Why would you want to be a F1 driver? It's the Rally drivers who get all the hot girls.
As for the NZ Police trying to employ the best hacker they failed to convict? Freaking Briliant IMHO.
Sure it will be togh to keep him out of crime and they may have to imprison him at a future date. On the upside, monitor him will be a lot easier when the police own his hardware and network. And all without violating any kind of civil liberties since he is an employee.
On top of that, Ciber crime, Fraud, Forgery etc.. are crimes of misdirected intellect. It takes a mind at least within the range of a clever criminal to capture him. Making this kid potentially quite useful.

Couple that with a perfect understanding of the mathematics behind poker and the "skill" of a well written poker software starts to become impressive.

Of course these makes sense in a mid sized to large organization where any moderately important service runs on at least two servers and the really big things have dozens of dedicated machines.

We even saw this gap on EXIT polls. (I.e. After they voted, they still lied about it.)
Dose that meen they are racist or that they just don't want people to think they are racist because they dislike Obama's policys on Medicare, the Iraqu war or any of a zillion other isues?

Giving him a black VP would mean bumping him off would still leave America with a Black President.

finally: There is a new category of child porn that has started to pop up lately. Child produced pornography. This means 3 or 4 children, all the same age who take turns operating a cameraphone and performing for it. Then they send out the video to other children via MMS, Bluetooth and Email. The 1st such "work" that came to public attention locally was on the cellphones or computers of thousands of children before the 1st adult saw it.
How do we deal with that? Who do we prosecute? I honestly don't know, suggestions from the Slashdot crowd would be welcome.
