look on the bright side, in the unlikely event (IMHO) that he were to survive, he could have a lifetime contract with Coke starring in Mountain Dew commercials... Maybe Mel Torme would like to go along?

  2. Re:Buy Memory while you still can on RAMBUS Taking SDRAM Patent To Court · · Score: 1
I totally agree, however, I have noticed that as much as the prices of RAM have dropped so much as to penetrate the inner earth's core as of late, the retail price of RAM hasn't really dropped ALL that much. Someone right now is still making TONS of money off of this, and it growing bigger daily as the price continues to drop. I mean, how much was a 128MB stick of PC133 in your local Sunday news? US$100 at Best Buy? Maybe US$80 after a rebate? (see http://slashdot.org/askslashdot/01/02/06/2050201.s html)

Bottom line is this: The public-at-large are too concerned with the well-being of their SUV's and other such objects to realize how bad they are being screwed by the retail market. They lack the necessary knowledge or resources to to actual "computer parts shopping" Perhaps this is a good thing, if that did happen, PriceWatch would be replete with banner ads, and we would never get anywhere as they sites would buy each other up.

Not everyone can be a true nerd, and get their memory cheap :)

I don't really think it matters, the whole point is that the location is as such that there is NO NOISE at ALL, you get a ton of cell phones and laptops and stuff that are searching for a signal, and you have noise. I personally would give my left lung to go, wheel my a$$ in on a respirator, at least I could say I went into a giant golf ball and came out thinking I was Tiger Woods :)

  4. this is kinda cool... on Cool Cases: Armor or Arcade? · · Score: 1

but who would want it? Unless you play old ROMS all day, who wants to blow US$650 on 8-bit programs? There has to be a market for this somewhere, just not with me...

LOL, couldn't you just see the court proceedings? A veritable legion or geeks with lawyers vs. the DOJ... "DID you or did you NOT post with PGP the words in Slashdot.org "fIrS7 p0s7 d00dz" Wait a second, I think has been dome before, in Microsoft vs. DOJ (Bill Gates, the mother of all geeks, second only to the abusivee father, Linus, who hit his wife constantly :)) and one of the Revenge of the Nerd movies :)
