Quicktime takes over my.png files, and netscape can handle that quite well. For quicktime movies it's quite impressive though. Just need mediaplayer support and then I'm all set:)
Well I remember germany sponsering GPG development, and lately encryption extensions to both kmail and mutt. This seems like one giant step forward in this process.
Hmm that seems to make sense, no more writing or typing, just say: "appointment tomorrow 3pm with mr. Gates"... "Acknowledged". ViaVoice, Festival, Qt embedded on an IPAQ ?
Hi,
I would love to see another media terminal with _two_ ethernet plugins. So I can use it as a gateway for my homenetwork. Hope I can plugin a wireless network card as well:-)
Also see the somewhat smaller but very cool streaming server http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net/, supporting, mpeg video/audio, flash, real, multipart jpeg, single frame jpeg, asf, opendivx (not all the formats are working but the infrastructure is there)
For video try ffmpeg, it's not production quality yet, but the author is looking for websites to test it. Aside from the usual mpeg2 streams it also outputs in Flash, Opendivx and RealVideo. From the website:
What can you do with FFMpeg ?
Record and compress in real time any video source in most file
formats.
Make your Internet Radio or TV, provided you have
an audio or video content source.
Make your video monitoring system, provided you have a video
camera.
Generate your streaming files for your web server in many popular formats
faster than any other solution.
I did some research on my own shoes. They're Converse, blue, you know, the skate type. The label inside the shoe told me "Made in Macau". I've never heard of Macau, let alone know where it is. I went to the Converse website to find out more. Let's have a look at their "studentinfo" (sic)
"...Converse Inc. is the largest U.S. manufacturer of athletic footwear due to its Lumberton, N.C...."
"Lumberton employs approximately 890 people and is the largest employer in Robeson County, NC.plant"
"Converse manufactured over 10 million pairs of the canvas Chuck Taylor All Star in 1992; 50 percent of which were shipped to overseas markets."
Hmm that's strange, they're producing from the U.S ? There's nothing about Macau in there. It seems to be an All American shop.
Let's do some more research and read a bit of the
financial info on their website. Hmmm this SEC filing looks interesting. It seems to go to the sec.gov site, but no hits on the query they gave us. Try hitting the link for yourself to see what I mean.
Grmbl, let's see what google gives us. Hey another link to the SEC site. And this one does mention Macau !
"We utilize independent producers located in the Far East, particularly China,
Taiwan, Macau, Vietnam and the Philippines, to manufacture approximately 64% of
our footwear."
Well, 64% eh, that's quite a lot. I wonder how many sweatshops that is.
Nice article but the interesting part is to be read on
Infoworld.
The Windows Embedded Strategic Silicon Alliance (WESSA), which will be officially unveiled Tuesday at a Microsoft developer conference in Las Vegas, allows member companies access to the source code of Windows CE 3.0.
The 10 charter members of WESSA are ARM, Alchemy Semiconductor, Cirrus Logic, Hitachi, Intel, MIPS Technologies, National Semiconductor, NEC, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba.
Or Alpha Centauri which is even more complex and a good game at thinker level/huge map will keep you busy for at least two days.
Another great article about 2.4
on
2.2 vs 2.4

· Score: 3
It talks about a DALnet server running stable on 38.000 connections. I found this link on deamonnews a BSD site, and like them I'm quite curious about how well linux 2.4 networking works compared to the latest FreeBSD.

Well since arts is already used in KDE and now that gnome is willing to adopt is this a sign for further integration ? Next stop, gstreamer in KDE ??

Is it still possible to use EVAS over a network ? I thought hardware acceleration bypassed the X11 networking architecture ?
Afcourse the divx player/library for linux is here: http://divx.euro.ru/
