No, but I'm pretty sure that it was doing some Microsoft advertising at the time.

Here in Ohio, USA, we had the Goodyear blimp crash in Linus' honor. ;P

    Congrats Linus, and Thanks.

Exactly. We made sure we got the kids into a school that has a gifted program, and have already introduced our youngest to the gifted coordinator. The school keeps the kids in normal classes, but sends them to the gifted room for one period a day for more challenging work, not just more work.

The best thing is to be actively involved with the child and teacher and make sure that everybody is working together to do the best for the child.

  4. Re:I'm impressed! on More Bad News From The Hellmouth · · Score: 2

As the parent of three "gifted" (highly intelligent) children, I agree. Gifted kids can be more trouble than "troubled" kids. I know that my youngest is going to be pushed towards ridalin (sp?) by some know it all teacher when he gets to first grade. If he's engaged in an activity, he's fine. When he's bored, get starts to get into trouble. At the tender age of four, he likes to build my Technic Lego sets. He can sit for hours and build. Or play games on the computer.

When the batteries of tests come his way, I hope that they find what he needs to reach his potential, and not stifle his free spirit and creativity. At a glance, it sounds like the test has some merit behind it. It's the double edged sword -it can be used for good and evil.

ObHumor - we used to get the career guidance tests once a year in high school. The goal was to see what weird career you could get the computer to spit out for you. I got a Toastmaster Botanist one year.

Coolest thing I've seen in a while. My wife's cell phone can play some crude games, but this takes the cake. I was planning on buying a Mavica, but this may just change my mind.

BTW, how did he take the picture of his camera?

The whole thing was starting to reek of Intel.

Glad to see that Apple got its head out of its ass and decided to do the Right Thing. I'm sure Jobs took great pleasure in firing the goofs that caused all the confusion. This never should have required him to get involved. At the first sign of trouble, Apple should have went public, and kept the customers happy. When you put the CEO in apologist mode, heads will roll.

Right on. If the Xybernaut stuff didn't look so blasted klunky, I'm sure there would be more of a market for this sort of thing.

If a pen required you to adjust the way you work to use it, you wouldn't use a pen.

If they could make the Xybernaut less intrusive, the same bunch of people that rushed out to buy palms at first would be rushing out to buy Xybernauts, if they could get a good price point, say $1500-2000US. I'd be tempted, but I don't think I'd ever take the thing off. 8)

If there is no news happening, you should try to make some? This sounds pretty fishy. Of course, he's going to get what he wants.

After seeing some of da Katz's other articles, I thought he'd never get it. Glad to see that he finally did. :)

Stick with it Katz. Good things are ahead. Who knows, you may become a better (more informed?) user because of it.

Linux is to Windows what Chevy Chevettes are to Ford Windstars. I can open the hood of my Chevette and fix it if need be. I can change the spark plugs in my Windstar if I drop the transmission first.

Right on. I've got a Kinesis (given to me by a friend for $0 US! :O). Works wonders. Can hack all day without a problem. It sure has a funky design, but it only took me a day or two to get used to it.

Also, streching is very important. Just take a minute or two each hour to strech the hands and wrists.

    1. Where do I sign up to be a test subject for this stuff? Being able to interact with a computer without needing a mouse/keyboard/monitor would be a Good Thing. The real plus would be _finally_ having my fridge be able to tell me I was out of milk when I was actually at the store. Of course, assuming my fridge gets an IP addy.

    2. The "Mark of the Beast 666" does not become relevant in Christianity until after the Rapture. After all of the people who are Christians are taken away by Jesus, then the earth is plunged into times of darkness, and then the Anti-Christ and 666 become an issue. The Bible tells us that we should not actively hunt out the Anti-Christ, but beware the signs. So, until you see all of the Christians you know disappear, no more 666 talk.
