I'm so fed up with this Global Warming garbage, especially the human-caused portion of it. These "scientists" are like ants in an oven, blaming the oven's rising temperature on themselves, rather than the heating element.
I don't mean to rag on Cisco, but if the ISP is using Cisco Access Servers, the firmware upgrades are a scary thing.
Cisco had a V.92 firmware upgrade for their Access Servers available in July. This (2001) July. We had to upgrade the IOS to an experimental version to get the upgrade (for V.92) to work, but that experimental version wouldn't hang up the modems after they had been used. It was a nightmare.
This could be a reason the ISP's are slow in supporting V.92, since many ISP's tend to use Cisco gear on their network.
This sounds very reasonable to me. Who, as a teenager, hasn't done something incredibly stupid? I am all for children getting second chances. They haven't lived long enough to realize that their actions have consequences. These children should be closely monitored when released, though. They may have a tendancy to do stupid things.

Actually, it will be nice to have the speed for video editing on external harddrives without having to use a firewire one.
