Season 1 will be available in the US on dvd starting in late June of this year. Season 2 is currently airing in Japan, and will eventually end up over here. The show is pretty good, being more faithful to the original manga, and having seen the first three episoses of the 2nd season, I can say that it looks to be even better than the first season.
One explanation for the eyes, that I've heard, is that it is easier to show emotions using bigger eyes. It allows more exaggeration of facial expressions, making sure that the animators intent comes through in a clear fashion.
Yeah, I know. It's still frustating to those of us who don't mind paying for our entertainment, rather than downloading it.
A lot of Japanese fans wait anyway. God knows how much anime I've had to ship back to my brother-in-law back in Japan. Along with a region 1 dvd player. But I understand the point.
Maybe they should put English subs on the Japanese dvds more often, like they did with Azumi, so that obssessive fanboys like me could get our fix earlier, while counting on most people to wait for the ease of buying region 1 dvds.
Thank you. It's been licensed for frickin' ever. About time they actually got around to distributing it. Just think, 2nd gig should probably follow in about 3 years:(
Tell me about it. The seating is generally great, but I could never get used to the pre-packaged bag of popcorn. Sometimes I'm actually glad I moved back home.
Does anyone know when (or if) the GitS:Stand Alone Complex series will get released in the States? I loved the fansubs, but I'd like to buy some DVDs.
Any truth to the rumors that Innocence will focus more on Batou as the main character? And is Bandai planning on bringing that over here, or will I have to settle for fansubs on that one also?
