Someone made bread and butter.. so did movies and music... yes, we can always go into discussion who's taking the fair share... but... still.. work was done... people are getting paid for what they are doing... that's the point.. you work you get paid... who get's rich is the whole other discussion... taking the money from the rich, you kill the workers... we just have to figure out how to deal with the reach and help working people...

We made a simple test.. with loading 1000 records from db and simply display it on the page..
PHP was way slower... 1.5 times slower in displaying page...
I agree with you in one thing it's sometimes faster to do something in PHP than anyother language....

I've developed many web projects with many different frameworks (PHP:zend, symfony, cakePhp Java: Spring, Struts...).. in the end I ended up working with Apache Wicket and Apache Shiro.
Some of the reasons I'm using Wicket over any other java framework are easy to use API, really simple configuration, no template engines and stuff (web designer gives me HTML files and I attach my wicket components to it, thats all), development speed, fast in terms of requests per second.
I use Apache Shiro over any other java security framework for the same reasons, simple to use API, simple configuration, speed..

If you ask me, why not ? The more they take out of US the better. Otherwise US will spend it on wall street instead of their own taxpayers anyway.
I come from a small country in Europe Slovenia. I own a small company and my government takes a lot of my yearly income. About 40%. I don't know how much USA takes of googles yearly income but yes lot's of people are thinking of moving companies/money out of their own country just to pay less tax. Not that I'm greedy or something but since I'm paying my government taxes I expect something in return. A little something would be fine. For example a dentist, as I need one right now and I've been searching for one for 2 years now. Unfortunately I can't find one public dentist to take care of me on my health insurance, which I'm also paying every month... so why wouldn't I want to take my money out of my country and at least save me some to fix my teeth. Go google !

I have a lot of friends from America. These people are great, friendly, amazing. Total contradiction to the kind of politics US government has.
Respect for mr. Manning. He did the right thing although breaking the law.

Well another government mistake ... just hire the guy as a security advisor ...
