up2date is, of course, RPM based and absolutely does not "rawk". If the RPM is not in RedHat's database, or the database it is pointing to, it assumes that you are out of date, even if the package was installed via RPM. For instance, installing package superprog.2.4.5 from anyone but redhat, then redhat will come back and say "no no" you need our version 2.2.7 our whatever. LAME
One of my misgivings with the RPM system is it's inability to determine later versions of software if installed compiling it yourself... for instance, the latest ppp utilities, and any of the latest and greatest reiserfsprogs. An RPM with any earlier versions of this software will stomp all over your more up to date install. Same thing with the RPM based up2date... it insists that my kernel needs to be updated.... from 2.4.2 to 2.2.17. Yea. Is apt capable of determining file/package versions? If not, as troubling as RPM deps can be, it isn't enough to make me change distros.
in theory, a rail gun can project a metal object to nearly the speed of light. Now imagine being in the office behind the target when you read this on/.
The newer Dell Precisions have about the best of case designs I've seen. Easily pulled out cage for up to 4 HDDs and easy access to SCSI drive jumpers, railed drives, two flip-out power supplies for making access easy and plastic filler for proper cooling of the hot-spots. It even comes with a tension bar for the video card... All in all, the best case design i've ever seen.

You know, this means bacteria are now protected under the DMCA and the use of penicillin is a felony or something.

Add a motor, battery, rack chassis, and castor set, and you've got one kickass lan party entrance.
