As I said, it's the armour: look at it closely. If you know how DR is calculated, you'll notice a very big mistake on the DR of most items of armour ;)

    Hail Jugulator,

Come now, you know that the AS is not exactly guarenteed correct information: even what is on it now - and how long after 1.09 came out? - a good deal of the information on the page is still wrong. That almost every item of Set and Unique armour is still listed incorrectly shows where the attention to detail has been...lacking.

Really, there is a lot of misinformation floating about on 1.10. I say we wait and see what happens: I know I already know the details of quite a few changes, and they seem to suit me just fine, but it's not until I get to pull apart the new Patch_DII.mpq that I'll know just how good or bad 1.10 shall be. After all, who - outside of Blizzard North - possably could?

  3. People should work it out for themselves... on TypoSquating == CyberSquating · · Score: 1

If you have typed www.slashcomma.org and get something else, you should be able to work it out for yourself if it is the site ot not. If people are really worried about these things, they should buy the domains and set them up to redirect themselves. George Bush owns www.georgebushsucks.com among others...beats complaining!

  4. Way to go Damien! on Damian Conway Sponsored · · Score: 1

This guy is a legend! You should see half of the things he has done. He's got a great sense of humour too, so that makes him the best lecturer you can get over here. His PERL projects are as impressive as his lectures, and frequently as funny. This guy actually made a PERL program that took compiler error messages and turned them into Haikus, and another time he made a program that dynamically makes jokes based on the Abbot and Costello "Who's on first" routine...all in his spare time! From someone who messes around with everything from quantum computers to the laws of physics, you know you are getting a top program. Damien deserves all he can get and I hope he brings out some amazing stuff from it.

  5. Denial of the truth! on Different View Of MS Code Theft · · Score: 1

M$ is claiming that they have everything under control, but this sort of stuff is happening all the time there. I was never involved in any of it, but I recall several instances of the same sort of thing occurring in the past. Give it up M$, we are too smart for you! Thats why we have UNIX based macines in our homes :)

  6. Aye, the prices are droping... on Alternatives To The Floppy Disk? · · Score: 1

But think about it from the perspective of someone buying a few hundred or even thousand of them. The price goes up quick. They may not seem too expencive at first glance, but if you are getting one for every computer and, say, there is one computer for every three students then you have a real cost issue.

  7. I agree... on Alternatives To The Floppy Disk? · · Score: 1

I have lost count of the number of people and number of times I have told friends and relatives that keeping that important document on a floppy alone is a stupid thing, yet they keep doing it and keep loosing things.
Personally, I have an old 1Gb HDD that I canibalised from an OLD PC of mine, but this is surely FAR from the best idea. CD-RW is a good option, if you have the money, but if you don't, what do you do? I'll stick to the old HDD for a little longer (though it's starting to get a little small at times) and wait for my next upgrade to look at something better...but what is best?
