In response to the reote on a wire bit: My first VCR, purchased in the early '80s, had a remote on a wire. It's not that big a deal. Yet being the techno-hyped atmosphere in which the PS2 was released, I can almost give you my GAR-ON-TEE that before the year is out either sony or some company will market wireless controllers for the PS2. I've seen wireless keyboards and mice, I've seen wireless networking; wirelss consle controls aren't all that farfetched. A remote controlled house however...

I agree that person isn't REALLY living in space until they move there and do not intend to come back. Sure they might get guilt tripped into seeing thier mother for thanksgiving, but they always go back.

Well, since we (as a species) don't seem to have any persuasion to stop breeding like lemmings, It may be about time that we take to our own proverbial 'sea'. Just as lemings will eventually swarm towards the ocean (or other body of water) when there is no more land to sustain them, we should consider the benefits that colonization of other planets could have.

Some of the great things we could might include: Colonizing Mars and terraforming it, then building a dome of sorts on the moons of Mars and sending convicts there. Colonizing the moon and making it a staging area for deep-space manned missions and scientific research. Experimenting with mining of such planets as Jupiter for fuel (yeah it's far fetched due to all that physics stuff like gravity, but a man can dream can he?)

Anyway, We should seriously consider moving away from our eden in search of new ones to ravage and the like. plbth.

IPOs are a littl shaky wen it comes to the internet, I'm not sure I'd invest my money in anything quite that volitle.

If you say you care about something, but all you ever do about it is bitch, than nothing will happen. I have taken direct action personally on a number of issues, and voila! somthing happened. It does matter when you call/write/email/show up at your (generic political officer governor/senator/mayor/representative)'s office.

They listen, because if they don't, one person can start a fun circus with thepolitician at the center. Remember Monica Lewinsky? I thought you might, but why? Because someone blew a whistle.

Get off you lazy arse and blow some whistles if you don't like whats going on. Voting is the easiest way to do so. If you don't participate, you dont have any right to complain.
