Folks, if you want a slightly formal linux certification, then look at brainbench . I know all this self-certification thing is a little tough to believe in, but some of the questions that thing asks about linux you just can't answer unless you know your stuff - you just can't look it up in a book. I even ticked the box that said "send me the certs", and d'ya know what ? They got here (UK) a couple of weeks ago. Try it (and tell 'em I sent ya!!).
I purchased my Psion series 7 netbook a little over 7 months ago and no matter whereever I use it, I get geeks and non-geeks alike asking me "Wow - what the hell is that?". It does everything I need from a PDA and it's got a decent sized screen. It supports 1 x PCMCIA and 1 x CF+ socket ( I have to admit that I'm really trying not to purchase anything that supports secure stuff - apart from the PS2 memory card where I had no option!). It reads MS attachments pretty well (you can read excel / word / ppt), and the battery life is ridiculous. It runs perl for that 'on the fly' coding (should you ever wish to), and runs at 190Mhz. It ROCKS man.
open invite for the slating of psion please....
I use corpex.com - they provide a web hosting service so you can bung a few web pages up with telnet access and most of the stuff you're looking for, for a reasonable fee. If you do use them, tell 'em richardagreen at yahoo.com sent ya - maybe they'll give me a few $$$ for drumming up some business.....
Cheers.
Richard.
... so where does that put me ? I wanted to kind of use them as
hotwail : Complaints about hot*ail accounts (privacy, links to the m*n etc)
hotwhale : A silly little free email site, just so folks can say to each other "No, it's a hotwhale address" (and also manage to get a memorable email address rather than xyz99xxx_fred@hot*ail.com).
Any comments ? Where does this put me ?!?!
oops I mean see what happens when you try to run it. Damn and blast why didn't I think first ?
and then see what happens to your ksh / csh scripts.
