I see lots of people talking about a remade 4,5,6.. i get this funny feeling it's not gonna happen, though.
Even George isn't that stupid.. unless we're talking about King George the Bush...
Ep 2 I think was just about as good as any of 4,5,6. Just in the late 70's / early 80's, no one had ever made movies like this before. Now, there's a lot more of them.
What race of being is a Jar Jar anyway? And how long do they live??
The only thing I remember about ESB is snow.. and more snow.. and.. hmm..
snow.
Whomever thinks that Boba Fett is the ultimate badass is really out there. Boba Fett didn't do a damn thing in any of the movies. He had more scenes in AOTC than in the other three combined.. and that's just presuming that Boba Fett is Jango Fett's kid, and not his grandkid.
I think this whole "Boba Fett is awesome" deal might've started when the original Boba Fett action figure was recalled because of the shooting rocket deal that could potentially poke kids eyes out.
The thing is, that being such a large, and populous country.. there's a lot MORE of the dumb ones. And they are usually concentrated into areas, too.
I work close to Detroit, and virtually everyone I talk to is incapable of speaking more than an entire sentence without using non-valid English (see also ghetto/ebonics/whatever you want to call it).. 40 miles east of here, near Ann Arbor, it's a totally different world... where virtually everyone is foreign, and speaks English as a second, third, or fourth language.. but does it better than people who grew up knowing only english.
If tens of thousands of open source code authors can't fix a typo or grammatical or spelling error, what the hell are they capable of coding?
I've turned in spelling and grammatical corrections to open source projects only to be told "i don't give a shit" and not applied by the maintainers.
I've turned in patches that made non-consistent user interfaces more consistent, i've turned in a lot of very good changes, that were both easy and obvious.. and in virtually every case been responded to by the authors "i don't give a shit what you think, fuck off." and in one case i was told "don't bother submitting a patch unless it actually fixes something".
There should be an ego requirement to be able to use the GPL.
What do you mean they fucked up the story line? They follow the story perfectly, except for the mitochondrians thing, which apparently got dumped anyway. So, that was some heretical speaking about the faith of the Force. Or some crap like that.
What got fucked up is just the fact that Ep 1 sucked. The story line was fine, the whole movie blew ass chunks, though.
At least Jar Jar grew up, though he still has a really annoying voice. bleah. I hope he dies at the hands of Darth Sidious or even better Lord Vader, in Ep 3.
Don't expect your datastream to stay consistently at a high enough speed to maintain video constantly moving, but it isn't too bad.. especially with the newer phones.
I can't wait till Samsung releases their MM series (multimedia) phones.. supposedly capable of 30fps fmv...
Actually, I just loaded this up on a Samsung A680 Sprint PCS, and compared the MSNBC to real MSNBC on Satellite.. the video coming into the Samsung phone was about 30 seconds AHEAD of the video coming into the Satellite TV.
And the A680 is capable of pulling off 15fps when the datastream is fast enough
Completely agreed, in that most people run everything in the highest privilege level possible within Windows.
Same thing could potentially happen to any system - just as we already all know, it's a lot more likely to happen to a Windows box. But, if some trojan horse program got in to a Unix box, and hacked the proper privileges, then all Hell could be broken loose there as well. (like the Robert Morris Internet Worm)
Find me something that -can't- be turned off by another application, if you know how it works?
That's a really lame complaint. If a program has the proper authorities, or can hack the proper authorities, then of course it can stop the operating of another application.
In Unix, they call it "kill".
How many Windows viruses will auto kill your task-window process whenever they see it come up? I bet lots of them. Same deal.
While delousing Windows boxes, I usually find myself downloading the least popular anti-virus programs I can possibly find to do it, because then I am usually able to get it running on the machine without bringing the whole system down.. any good virus would automatically kill norton, mcafee, and other popular virus scanners..
and even if you can't kill the running process, if you have access to change the configuration files, then you can effectively take it down that way as well..
And on Fark, Drew will delete your posts if he doesn't agree with your opinion.
So what?
I agree - the first two Star Wars movies have sucked.. then again, I wasn't too much into the second one in the first trilogy either.. I think ROTJ and ANH are the best of them, and the other 3 suck. I do have hope for episodes 7-9 though.
A cunninglinguist using the alphabet? Hmm. That sounds interesting. I guess if I ever get to do that again in my life, I'll have to try it. Care to explain more indepth how that works? lol
I would like to add that Sixth Sense was a Shyalaman movie (I didn't even know this guy's name until he decided to throw his name into the title of his latest complete bomb... )..
Apparently the mad success that his first couple of movies met, has driven him completely stark raving insane..
Sixth Sense was awesome. I don't think he's had any others that I thought were good. I thought Signs was good until we got to the middle of the movie, where things started to go completely sucktacular and craptastic.
I think I just ruined another keyboard, by spewing coffee all over it. Thank you so much, the tandem combination of those two one liners just did me in for the day. No more work.

I mean 40 miles WEST of here.. before anyone rips that comment apart.. (probably will in the 2 minutes I am required to wait between posts.. oh well)

Neither are any of those people... but Dharma sure as hell is a hot babe.

Just remember, Chevrolet released the original "Nova" back in the 70's.. in Mexico. What does NO VA mean in Spanish?
no go..

I disagree.
ANH: good
ESB: bad
ROTJ: excellent
TPM: awful
AOTC: good
And I am not a Star Wars geek. I'm a bit more subjective, in that Star Wars has never ruled my life.

I was thinking you meant humming the alphabet.. that was certainly entertaining when it happened to me!

think about your complaints before you make them!
What is your signature from? I know ive heard it before, but I can't place where...
Not entirely. He had several good works. He also had several really awful works. He wrote a LOT.

ok, i'll argue along with that. :D

Uh.. Highlander: Endgame was a two-parter of the TV series.. wasn't it??
Michael Keaton is REALLY Batman, and then it should be directed by Tim Burton, and based off of a GOOD part of the comic books.
If I remember correctly, the first Batman movie (of this era) with Keaton, was based quite a bit on the Dark Knight story line.. which was awesome.
"There is no way that I can ever hurt this movie in the way that it hurt me" or something like that?
I don't think Blair Witch was the wonderful thing that it got made out to be, but I was actually quite surprised by how good it did end up being.
That's funny.
