"You might assume that suicide rates would be elevated in lower-income neighborhoods and counties, and the study’s authors do point to findings that higher income generally lowers suicide risk. For example, an individual with family income less than $10,000 (in 1990 dollars) is 50% more likely to commit suicide than an individual with income above $60,000."

I think it's just that it's open, so at least security vulnerabilities can be spotted (though there's obviously no guarantee). You don't have the same visibility (and, often, community) with closed-off, proprietary firmware.
Jesus, I can't imagine how bad Comcast's channel guide must be if TWC's is 100 times better. Every time I look at TWC's I struggle to understand how it can be such a steaming coil of shit.
Yes, the teachers are lazy because "they don't want to tell the brats - whose asshole parents have raised asshole kids - to shut the hell up." Not to mention there's a pretty good chance the teachers didn't ask for the tablets -- these things are pretty rarely bottom-up endeavors.
Oh, and, btw, my paper books when I was in school were decades old. Two years is bleeding-edge in the world of printed textbooks. You don't honestly think paper textbooks are updated annually, do you?
I think we've hit a temporary lull, but you'll see renewed interest once newer, larger monitors start to enter the market. i.e., I'm fine with my rig so long as I can play any game with the settings maxed. Rules will have to change once 4k monitors become the new norm.
But no, you've got your TV pap and your shitty beer and something that claims to be a hamburger in your hand, so you sit idly by and watch it all unfold without saying a word except on slashdot and facebook.
Hey, we have tons of great beer and awesome cheeseburgers. The other stuff is true, but we have some good burgers.
Plenty of deals can be struck should everyone decide to use it as a media box. In fact, it's probably more profitable that way than as an Android gaming device. Roku has been successful, and *all* their device does is stream media (ok, they did try to tack on gaming with the Angry Birds edition in the second generation, but I'd be stunned if anyone uses it for games).
I have a friend who's son is on the no-fly list since he's 3 years old! He's twin brother is not. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Makes sense to me. There's *always* an evil twin. Always....

How did it go to hell? It looks like the market price barely had a blip. And that's *despite* Forbes and others declaring it dead.

And corporate control can't lead to censorship?
