  1. Accelerating the G4? on Linux PPC Boots On The Powerbook G4 Titanium · · Score: 1

Anyone know how to accelerate a G4? My brand-new G4 cube seems awful slow, especially when running OS 9.

I've searched a few Internet web sites, and they all have this cryptic comment:

The best way to accelerate a Macintosh is 32 ft/sec/sec down.

Anyone know if this is some software I can download and install? Or is it the name of a hardware addon? I keep looking around but am not finding on the issue...

    Thanks for any help.

  2. Proper mouse buttons? on Linux PPC Boots On The Powerbook G4 Titanium · · Score: 1

Did you ever consider that two mouse buttons might not be what you term 'proper'? Not everyone requires the functionality of two or more mouse buttons, nor does everyone find it as easy to use. Some prefer the simplicity of one mouse button.

Bottom line is don't judge something improper just because it doesn't support your needs.

  3. Some democracy on Florida Election Votes Certified · · Score: 1

You Americans can stop, from this instant, touting your political system as the most fair, most inclusive, best in the world. Since this entire election fiasco, not a single American has the right to criticize any other nation's electoral process or government. I haven't seen this much hypocrisy in a long, long time.

This is a huge scar on the face of your country, and you should look into getting it fixed now.

  4. Come on, people. on You Track Me, I Sue You · · Score: 2

This is precisely what advertising companies do. They are paid to determine the habits of their viewers, which is valuable information. It is completely transparent to you, you see nothing, you pay nothing, and all the while you get the content or other service you were seeking on-line for free.

I don't believe the net could survive without advertising. The tracking of customer habits is just anoter facet of it. There are plenty of other things to worry about right now, like free speech rights on the net. Let's leave advertisers alone for once, because in the great big world of the Web, you could say that they're the least of our concerns.
